Do you get attached to your villagers?

I had that with Diva as she was with me first and I didnt like her at first but grew to really like her. I have replaced her though with villagers I really like so I'm all good. Rhonda moved out today and I was sad at first but then I went Into lost property and found a gift I'd given her after she said she wanted it so I'm like bye bye now....I do have Fuchsia coming though so i was more than happy to let her go.

OMG I get so sentimental about my villagers. When Chief moved in I hated his house because it has garbage in it. But since I don't TT I have had him for months and he still hasn't asked me to move out. In the mean time, I have gotten so attached to how cute he is, especially when he sings, which he does a lot. He just looks so happy, dancing by himself like he hasn't a care in the world. I still don't like his house but I'm so torn. I want to experience other villagers but I really feel like I will miss him.

Also, my bf really didn't like Canberra on his island because he said she looked angry all the time. She was his starter uchi. Well, he still has her and I asked him if he wants to move her out and he said she has grown on him. So even though her angry face still isn't his favorite, she still won him over. I guess he and I are both sentimental types, haha!

Although I don’t play Animal Crossing New Leaf as much anymore, I remember getting attached to Monty and Soleil! I felt so guilty when I moved them out, even though most of the general public view them as ugly xD later on I replaced them with Epona and Wolf Link, which I don’t regret at all!! It’s just a shame I never got Monty and Soleil’s photos :(

EDIT;; Didn't realize I'm in the NL section lmao

Yes, I got attached to Lolly, and glad I didn't let her go because I would've totally regretted it if I did let her go, now she's still on my island and now a permanent resident, thinking about kicking her out and reinviting her for her original interior, but idk, Lolly has been with me from the very start of my gameplay, and I already gifted her furnitures to make her interior better, so it'll feel a bit weird to kick her out just because she doesn't have her original house, like she won't be the same Lolly or sumn...

yes! sometimes they move in and i'm sort of impartial about them, but as time goes on i realise how adorable they are and start to struggle with the idea of letting them go. happened recently with beau!

bruh ive had gale since the beginning and kinda disliked the pink theme. she asked to leave recently and i said yes. i've never cared much for her but im actually kinda sad she'll be gone.

she's moving out on the 25th

ps: no. i haven't had NL for 7 years lol. had it since July 1st. cool game

I tend to get super sentimental as well! Usually I’d try to match up all my villagers to my town’s aesthetic but now I’m too attached ^^, I’m actually trying to kick out Flora and replace her with Lolly, but like you she’s one of my first villagers. I just keep in mind that I’ll always be able to get her back when she moves out, plus she’ll have cool travel stories when she returns :)

Yes. With pecan. At first I'm like ok she's alright, then I got attached to her. Now I'm not letting her leave untill I get her picture.

Usually they come and go but I love Miranda and Rolf so much! I'm trying to reach best friend level with both of them.

To a certain extent, yes I do get attached to my villager with time. There are just some villagers that I really don't want to leave at all because I really like them but there are very few since I love most villagers and enjoy cycling through them from time to time. Bluebear, for example (I joined to forums purely to find her so that I could adopt her for my town), will never leave any copy of animal crossing I own across the series because she is pretty cute and idk, with the user and everything, she feels like a must have. She is very sweet and funny, constantly talking about the moon in New Horizons and is literally a BLUE BEAR. Adorable.

It depends on the villager? I've had Hopper from the start so I'm actually a little sad about him moving out (not sad enough to stop him though). I feel the more you interact with a villager, the easier it is to get attached. However, I didn't want Pango to move in and I've avoided talking to her at all, so I'll be genuinely happy when she leaves.

Same really  I ignored Klaus, Hippeux and Al because they just randomly moved into my town without me even wanting that, and I was oh so glad when they finally moved out.
Furthermore, I grew more attached to O'Hare 4 months after he moved out (I know, a little late lol) and was also really sad that he suddenly moved out without telling me about it in the first place, as he's (still) definitely one of my all-time favourites.

I'm very attached to my villagers. I try to keep them all from moving out. The only one I didn't care for was Olaf. I'm sitting on a bench with Rocco right now enjoying a quiet evening.

Yes I did, Skye, Amelia, Freya, Bisikt, Epona, W.Link, Papi, and others. And I still have them in my towns.

Maybe I should just say 80% villagers I'm attached to

Well I don’t get too attached with my villagers, mostly more attached with my amiibo villagers coz I know they won’t move out, but I still get quite attached with my other villagers. I get quite annoyed though because in my town I have a mix of amiibo and non-amiibo villagers and some of my amiibo villagers im getting really bored of coz they for some reason start nice but then I don’t like them when I have them for too long.

Definitely, I got exited when Dizzy asked to move out but when it came to his moving day I actually started to miss him. Same with curlos

I absolutely do, when my faves tell me they want to move out, I always talk them out of it, I just can't imagine my town without them. Usually when they ask me to do even a pretty challenging favor, I try my best to do it for them. I also enjoy their birthday parties and try to make sure to get an ideal gift for them. I try to talk to them as much as I can quite a few times every day when I play ACNL. Also buy things that I don't want from them just to make them happy 😂
