I've always loved my island.
Always been proud of it.

But recently I've been so sick of looking at it!

Tonight I took the plunge and started changing things.
Nothing major at all. I changed the type of fences I had around my villagers houses. And I changed my path around the island from terracotta, to brick.

Its not as pretty as before.
But im so much happier now that it's changed.

Have any of you gotten just so fed up of the way your island looks even though you know its still good?
If so what did you do about it?
Make changes or wait it out and see if you feel better later?

I feel like I get tired of it every week.. I'm constantly changing things around. I suppose that's what has been keeping me going as of late. Thank goodness for the incoming update!

I gotta be honest I really don't care how my island looks. I've done too many restarts on the 2nd island to the point where I am just like "yeah its simple, but it at least its more open" I don't really care for themes. All I ever cared about was making an island that is more open and easy to explore. Paths that made more sense of where they go and other areas that are out of my personal interest.

Not majorly, but sometimes I'll come across a random area and be like "Wait no, change it."
Most of the time, I leave it alone.

yes. all the time. i always feel like there's more i could do with my island, but i never know quite what, y'know? i've got a long way to go for sure

I’ve been annoyed with my island for a long time. I wanted to keep the 5 star status but by doing that I had to sacrifice my ideal island. Lots of trees, barely any items outdoors, stuff like that. So about a week ago I started playing again because of the upcoming update. I got rid of my path, removed almost all items, and planted a ton of trees. I love my island a lot more now. Isabelle said my town rating is 3 stars lmaoo.

Not really. I change some of the decor seasonally which keeps things different at least.

But I do have a few areas around my island that I think is getting stale because I haven't touched it since last year.

When I get tired of things, I invite different villagers. I'm pretty pleased lately with how my islands look. However, I envy one of my acquaintance's island because it has a perfect basic map.

Yes, I get fed up with my main island all the time. I think my main problem is liking my second island more. I took more time planning my second island. I have been trying to fix parts of it but sometimes just turn it off when I can’t think of a way to fix it. I was also thinking of changing some of my villagers on it.

I do wish I could move my character and my museum completion over to my second island.
I would totally chose that one over my main island XD

All of my reworks i just did are ideas spawned from my second island haha

Yeah. I get frustrated when certain sections don't live up to their potential, so I just tweak here and there until I feel better about it. I also have a ton of underutilized space.

It would make things easier if I could move my completed museum over. I made a farm area on my first island that I based off of my second islands farm.

Yes, lmao! I'm like I hate it here...
I think I liked a previous iteration of my island better but I'll just have to live with my decision to keep re-vamping it :D

My anxiety disorder makes me focus on negatives often, so I'll often focus on or only see the imperfections of my islands. But I've turned it into a positive by using those thoughts as an excuse to rework those spots.

"Oh, that part of the cliff looks horrible." is now "Ah, I should make that part of the cliff stick out a little more so I can fit one more tree or some fences there!"

And so on.

I'm kinda used to certain areas, but when I take a step back I'm proud of my island, I'm more sad that only a few people get to see my hard work 😆
And initially I planed to decorate every corner before uploading it in the dream suite but I left the game a year ago, now with the update it motivates me to finish my mission !

I’m attached to certain areas of my island. I wasn’t necessarily done with any other parts of my island other than those parts I was extremely attached to. I wouldn’t say I was sick of it by any means, but I did get envious of other people who had complete islands and my island only had parts I was happy with.

I have a weird thing where the moment I design my island I will love it for a while and then proceed to hating it eventually the more I become familiar with it. In my previous island, I went all out with the cores and the pathing and designing and whatnot until I eventually grew sick of it and stopped playing. I recently reset though so now my island is empty and I was debating whether I should start decorating or just leave it empty until the update is available and just start designing then.

Nope. If something annoys me, I just shift things around so that they work. Example being, I spent quite sometime looking at the peninsula that we have, and wondered what the hell I was going to do with it, and then decided to take the plunge and put my house there, lol.

Only one month and yes, it's kinda tiring sometimes. I'm always trying to think of new ways to make those empty patches of land less boring... but then my ideas would clash with my island's current aesthetics. It's tough designing a good-looking island with a consistent theme.

Yeah, in my first island I did a LOT of huge renovations. Things didn't go as I initially planned so there was a lot of building up and tearing down that happened in the span of a year. There were days when I really liked what I had done but the next day I see pictures on insta and pinterest that pushed me to change an area not because I was jealous but because they made me feel I could do better. Little by little it not only built my experience with design but also made me realized what my vision was for my island. Evenetually each area fell into place and I was satisfied enough to the point where I was okay restarting my island to make way for designing a new island.

It's okay to renovate an area to something that makes you happy, even if you think it's "uglier" than before. I believe there's always a workaround to designing such that you can have a vision and make it look better with the right matching items and stuff.
