Do you enjoy Island hopping?

Early game. Yes.
There was no rush because you had multiple plots so you had literal days to look. Fun seeing all the different villagers. Awesome for resources.

Late game. Hate it. It needs fixed.
Since I don't TT, I'd have a plot open nearly a month apart (usually 16-17 days for me and first one i usually dont want to so 5 more days...) going hopping to see villagers is rare. Also, you get a void or rando in a day... so you have A DAY to try to do so many island hops or else you are stuck with likely the void of someone else.
Plus, you can only see the same villagers so many times before you don't want to hop anymore. The RNG for them needs to be changed/fixed. Its awful.
And since you are so panicked with only 1 day to hop with all the duplicates villagers you are encountering, you sort of lose the will to resource gather as you go.

I'd enjoy it more if I could just go to the next island via Wilbur instead of having to go all the way back to town and then go through Orville's song and dance again lol
This, so much this. Nintendo's carpal-tunnel inducing repetitive dialog is so frustrating at times.

Yupp.. Sadly for me, none of the villagers I wanted were up for sale.
The villagers I was hoping for were mainly not the super popular ones - mainly Mac, Scoot, Bill, Louie or Tad for the Jocks - and Olivia (okay, she's more popular), Monique, Kitty, Portia or Mallary for the Snooties.
I often just see the same faces on the Neighbor Network nowadads - lots of auctions for Raymond, Sherb or Audie.
I guess many people have stopped posting the less popular villagers as they often just get voided anyway.
A lot of mine aren’t super popular too, so I like to find a cycling service that does C/D tiered villagers at an affordable price! I’ve gotten several villagers that way!

I definitely do, but I hate the idea of wasting a bunch of Nook Miles on islands with villagers I don't want to adopt.

It is fun though, a good opportunity to get a tree item in each island and sometimes DIY bottles and gathering supplies, but you can get burnt out if you do it too long.

i find it tedious going through the dialouge continuously.
I made a rule for myself if I don't find someone I like in 10 islands I stop and just let a random move in

In my experience the dream never lives up to the reality. The first time I did it for real was last move out. I had a shed load of NM's banked so could do several trips. I guess i knew in the back of my mind that finding a dreamy was a little bit of a pipe dream but with each passing island it just became more and more soul crushing. It was like the game was conspiring against me to find every character i'd hate to join my island and present them to me as an option. As it was I did around 30 visits before stumbling across Pietro and I was in love. I guess there is a certain amount of achievement knowing that you had to travel so hard to get him but you could have just as easily bought the amiibo!
