I definitely donate! It's like I'm creating a collection of everything I've seen in my AC adventures. I like the satisfaction of completion and watching it grow. Plus is helps unlock some silver tools, wallpaper and flooring, and let's not forget brewsters cafe!
I try and donate everything, but I feel like I've also forgotten to donate a few things before as well, haha I've had the game since release and I've still only completed the fossils, so I have a while to go yet
Yes, and no. I donate all bugs/fish/fossils to the museum whenever I can, but art I usually hold off. Sometimes it looks good in your house, depending on the current theme. But in the end most of it all just gets dumped there, so I can hopefully have a full completed museum.
My main goal is the forest wall/floor, so once I get that, I'll probably stop.
I donate everything I can. I have the fossil section completed in all of my towns, a good portion of the bugs and fish, and a majority of the artwork. Once the museum's art gallery is full, I plan to dedicate a room in of my houses to art as well, complete with the paintball wallpaper and flooring.
But yeah, I recommend donating things. I wouldn't want to miss out on silver tools, the wallpapers and flooring, or Brewster's Cafe.
You have to donate 20 items to the museum,
so that Blathers will ask that you build the Roost caf?.
donate at least one item to each of the four categories:
bugs, fish/deep sea creatures, fossils, works of art.

the museumem to have a second floor. These are what you can buy:

In the museum shop, there are four exhibition rooms that you can rent.
Just ask Celeste and pay a one time fee of 10,000 bells. I use
all 4 rooms as storage and themed rooms: Halloween, Japanese
culture (all japanese dlc, asian orderable furniture), Gracie
clothing that I really like, and a christmas room that also
have all street pass items except for the many variety of
balloons you can get. Some people store villager or npc
pictures (Bianca from april fools day, resetti model, etc).
The satisfaction of completion is definitely my reason.
However, once I complete it all (5 more to go), I would like to
read the little description for each art, fossil, bug, fish, and sea
creature.
I also like seeing sealife swimming and bugs flying, art,
and the fossils on display. The fossils look pretty cool.
I work really hard to complete so that the villagers can
enjoy the museum that provides an art gallery, aquariam,
bug flying around, and fossil display to learn and admire!
you have the same town fruit as me! Do a lot of people here not use game guides to play acnl?
I only try to ask things that I couldnt look up and find an answer to. Also if you have a smartphone, theres this really good acnl app! It helps you keep track of everything: game items, creatures to catch, breed hybrids, pwp unlock list, villager's birthday, game events, etc! pretty awesome app.
Haha, there's thonky and wikia open on my tablet at all times there's just SO MUCH info that it's hard to read it all considering I only got this game a month ago and I didn't have that much time to play
I had this app (I think we're talking about the same one - the only one with checklists?) but I didn't like it too much so I deleted it after few tries. I guess now that I'm more *in* the game I should try it again
Badges? As badges from Phineas? Then no, you don't... You get badges for completin your encyclopedia but it has nothing to do with donating to the museum.
I think you get a museum model if you compete the whole thing. You also can get some cool stuff from the gift shop.
Other than that I don't think there's anything benificial to completing it. I guess the fossils are cool and sone people need to complete everything(like me). It really comes down to preference
