I hate diving. With a passion. I find is absolutely infuriating watching those shadows swim off out of bounds. However, I am a museum completionist. Always have been, it's one of my favorite things in the game and so I find myself aimlessly swimming, hoping for good luck knowing I'll fail miserably.

So it begs the question - does anyone actually do it? Is anyone good at it? If so how. Teach me your ways :3

also try to avoid guiding the shadows to the out of bounds area as much as possible (generally they'll swim away from you in same direction you're swimming I've noticed, so just make sure you aren't swimming right up to the off-limits part of the ocean)

basically pay attention to your positioning on the map at all times if you aren't entirely sure of the area

also poll choice b for the most part

but only because nothing really sells for good money lol (I've gotten stupidly good at it from practice to the point where I probably only miss out on a small handful any time I go diving at most now)

omg I just opened you sig to see you quote me xD weird life moment for me as I'm entirely unquotable.

and thanks for the tip :3 hopefully I will catch something that moves in the future

I tend to dive only for collection but I do like it. I'm half-decent at it, I can catch crabs fine.

Some tips (if they're not obvious enough haha:

- Swim close to the lines. This way, when you encounter a shadow, they'll be forced to run away from the lines which gives you more flexibility when pursuing them.
- Likewise, try not chasing things outwards!
- Some people button mash, but I personally like to pace myself so I don't spend time missing an opening.
- Do not dive after a fast target if you're not on top of them with about a ~0.5s space. Fast things will disappear before you get your second chance.
- You wont get most fast swimmers upon diving, you have to chase them underwater with the time advantage you gave yourself. You swim slower when submerged to be careful how you use it.

I really like the feature haha, and crabs are kind of cute.

I try to corner them near the beach so that they can't get away. It doesn't always work though and, if I'm honest, I'm terrible at diving for sea creatures myself.

I only ever dive for them to fill my encyclopedia, or if I'm hiding from my friends for a joke.
