Do you create your own custom patterns or mainly use ones you find online?

I only ever created a clothing design by myself, and that was because Nintendo didn't add my countries national traditional clothing. And I felt the need to have it in game. Other than that, I exclusively use other's people creations for paths!
. I partially use online stuff because most of it is stuff I would have never thought about creating in the first place.

I made a couple in HHD and in ACN that I’m using. Atm, I’m only using a few designs that other players made. I downloaded a bunch of outfits to have my villagers use, but then found out that they can’t use them unless the creator remade those designs for this game :/ since the codes were from ACNL or HHD.
Here are the designs I made though:
Most of them are Dragon Age related. The other designs are from FFX, Metal Gear Solid, and Shadow Hearts Covenant. The exclamation and question mark I based on the markers in WoW.
The last one is my poor rendition of the Circle of Magi (mage’s association in Dragon Age) heraldry. I scrapped that together in ACNH for one of my stalls.
As you can see, my AC designing talent is limited and I sadly don’t have the patience to recreate these in the game.

. That means a lot to me and makes me happy that you think so . I might try making some more designs again eventually, maybe when I’m closer to being done with my island. Right now, I just don’t have as much patience as I did back then lol.I use a lot of designs from here. I had so much fun dressing up my villagers in HHD in her outfits.
For my island's walkways, I pretty much just use the basic paths because I like the clunking sound of my character's feet on the terracotta and stone. I have however employed the use of custom designs in my two favourite parts of my island, the gym and the forest campsite area. I found both of them online, one from a reddit post about new horizons, and the other from an article in AC World. While I have tried many a time to create a custom pattern, even just making a water puddle for my fishing area turned out to be too hard for me personally 
so if I ever really wanted a certain path, i'd probably just end up commissioning the design from one of the talented custom design artists on this site.

I'm trash at making designs so I use ones I find online for my town. But ive started making some very very simple sweater designs to replace the default ones that hang up in Ables cause they were annoying me.
