Do you buy dreamies?

Well, I got like half of my fav villagers from doing art so personally to me those villagers bring me good memories of the people who enjoyed my art and were super excited when I finished my piece for them. I got Stitches and Wolfgang naturally and I love them just as much as my art villagers but the art villagers bring some certain fond memories with them the "natural" ones don't.

That's great! I like the idea of a villager bringing good memories.
Unfortunately for me, Skye has some bad memories of how I got her and where she's from.

Maybe you could try acquiring villagers in a way that brings good memories? Like from good friends or very friendly people or by doing something that really satisfies you? That is if you decide to give away the ones you already have. It IS your game after all and you should do what makes you feel best, be it giving away your current villagers or sticking to them :)

i would feel weird about buying / selling a villager. all of mine have been obtained through campsite or move-ins when i had less than 8. i think of it as another challenge of the game to obtain them naturally.

as for what other people do, i don't care. it's your game, your bells, do what you will.

It does bother me that the idea of obtaining your "dreamies" through (expensive) trading is so.... widespread? is that the right word?

I don't think it's wrong to give away a villager that is already decided on moving away to someone that wants them in their town though, since it's just like helping someone out because you had the opportunity to do so. while selling away a villager for millions doesn't really sound like helping someone out. if the other party decides to tip because they wanted to, it's another thing.

Personally I might consider buying a dreamie in the future, IF it comes at a really cheap price because I don't think it's worth it to spend so much on such a thing.

I've bought a few of mine but I've been quite lucky with who moves into my town, or my cycling town. A lot of lovely TBTers have given me some of my dreamies for free but i don't think i'd ever pay more then 10 mil for a villager.

I've sold a few of the popular villagers I didn't want, I felt quite horrible about it but I really needed the bells to develop my town. I do give a lot of them away though.

You shouldn't feel bad about selling if your town is in need of development. Like with Marshall, I payed 10 million to a newbie to help her with her town.

nah. they're too expensive. I can't ever afford to pay 7,8, 10 mil for a dreamie. I'll just wait and hope I get lucky.

I only buy if I've had em since Wild World. Then I know I'll like em. If they're newbies I just campsite reset for the guys (thus saving me over 20 million bells on Marshal and Julian alone, both of which didn't belong in my town too well)

I have bought and sold and gifted and been gifted villagers. I still think of them as my villagers, so they don't feel different to me. If I like a villager, I like them. It doesn't matter how they got there, I'm just glad they did!

My Streetpass villagers feel different. They move in without warning and destroy stuff. It's hard for me to "forgive" those particular bunches of pixels, even though they didn't do it on purpose. Lol
