You know those dreams that are just so vivid and realistic you still remember them months, even years after they happened? Do you believe they have any sort of meaning to them?

Honestly I would like to think they are more than just dreams. I personally believe that there are several different universes, and each one has a different version of myself in it. I think when I have these realistic dreams, that's me connecting with myself from that world. Even if there aren't different universes, I do believe these dreams have to mean something, because each vivid realistic dream I've had involves the same person and they have passed on. I can feel everything in these dreams. I can remember my thoughts, the clothes I wore, the clothes the other people wore, and just everything. No other dream has been like that, so I think they have to mean something.

Most of my dreams are overly vivid and realistic, it's the only kind of dreams I have, I just don't have them overly often. But even being really vivid doesn't really make them any less weird, most of my dreams are very very bizarre or gory and overly strange or confusing. So I really hope it's not myself in other universes. ALSO I was told that dreaming in 3rd person isn't normal, and I like, always see myself(but looking very different) in my dreams, more so like watching a movie of myself in most dreams... so I wonder what that means.

Not really, but sometimes things happen irl that also happened in my dream, so thats cool

One night I had a dream about when I was a baby I ran on a bus without my parents and now whenever I mention my parents are like 'Have you gone mad'? I have dreams about things happening that day and when I wake up I think I've just been as school or at a party or something. Weird.

I'm a very light sleeper and I tend to lucid dream a lot so I kind of know that nothing is real.

no because they never happen in real life. but they're usually realistic enough to happen in rl though.

All dreams have some semblance of meaning, and it could be very deep or trivial. Above all, dreams are just your brain creating sensations whilst nothing is happening to you - essentially hallucinating.
Yet what happens in the dream is driven by your subconscious, and is based on what's happening in your life currently. That's how we know certain circumstances in dreams mean certain things (i.e. teeth falling out means you're afraid of losing control and being naked is fear of having a secret exposed).

Those really strong dreams that we can remember for years, I believe, reflect our desires in one way or another. And like Twisterheart mentioned, I believe it's dreams that provide some escapism and longing for another life that we remember.

Nightmares may fall into this category though, which I believe reflect extreme fears manifesting themselves in ways you hadn't thought of before. And those nightmares we remember because we understand them to be unchangeable or unavoidable.

That's just my theory anyway ~

i do believe that the dreams do have some sort of meaning behind it. c:
but i don't really think of it as much since it's just a dream and it didn't really happen.

What do you mean by a realistic dream? I have never even thought of this. I've only ever thought that dreams are created from our personal memories and imagination. From my experience, dreams have never gone as far as being real but it would be interesting if they did.

Wow, I really like that idea. I think even the unrealistic dreams could be other you's from other dimensions.
I actually remember every dream I've ever had. When I go on daydreaming sprees at night, I'll jump from dream to dream just remembering all the cool one's I've had. Maybe this is why I have a terrible memory lol. It's all full of dreams.

I found that when I dream, it's usually about things that won't happen. For example, 98% of my dreams that have my bf in them, he's a complete jerk. I also tend to have A LOT of video game dreams, and some of thee can be my favorite.

The most recent vivid dream I had was actually a nightmare, and it was someone slowly chopping off my head while I heard him chanting. He was doing a human sacrifice. He ended up merging me with a...a truck, and I had to fight to the death with other trucks, but instead we just started racing and doing silly crap. It was such a weird experience because my dream was still trying to emanate fear, but it felt so disjointed because the silliness of the dream was a lot more impact to me.

Also shoutout to dreams that fake emotions. I hate those :)
Guilt, shame, and fear are the worst.

I think that dreams are easily interrupted by visions of the afterlife. One method of entering the afterlife I know of (and have practiced before, with mild success) is astral projection, which teaches us how dreaming can be a gateway to the afterlife.

So, I feel like when you have really vivid, realistic dreams, there's a chance you're not just having a simple dream. Could be a lot more to it than that.

I don't believe dreams have any meaning as in what the contents could suggest about your life and stuff, maybe apart from that you're imaginative.
However, having vivid dreams can be connected with being bipolar and having diabetes.

I don't think so, but I have heard that certain dreams mean certain things. For example, if someone dies in your dream, it means that they are going to live for a long time. I wouldn't know though since I have never in my whole life ever had a dream :( Those of you who actually have dreams (especially realistic ones) are so lucky!

I think dreams are just your brain exercising. they may be pulled from and premised upon subconscious feelings and thoughts, but even if so i believe they were just randomly selected...

what if dreams are sneak-peeks at what the afterlife is like...

I basically mean dreams involving scenarios that could happen in real life. They aren't random and all over the place. Like when I have a normal dream, it's usually just a bunch of random things put together that don't really make any sense, like last night I had a dream about breeding miniature pterodactyls which isn't possible irl. But when I have realistic vivid dreams, they are always one "scene" that all goes together and could happen in real life and they seem so real.

I believe some dreams mean something, like reflect your state of mind or thoughts, but overall it's nothing too farfetched. ^^
I had sleep paralysis once and it's probably the scariest and most vivid dream up-to-date. There are several other dreams which I remember though, like going out with my out-of-reach crush (pfft) or fixing my broken relationship with someone (pffffft). Kinda shows how much of a romancer I am lmao.

Also, a kinda shallow thought, when I can't seem to sort out my romantic feelings for someone and they show up in my dream, I instantly think, "Oh no, I dreamt of them, it's confirmed I have a crush on them." That's just me though haha.

No. In general the emotion in your dream might mean something, if you're angry/sad/excited that might reflect the emotions you felt before you slept. if you have a high amount of nightmares, that reflects on trauma in real life. I think that's stretching though, in my opinion it's completely unrelated. When people charge people to "decode" their dreams, that's scamming and untruthful (like all "psychics") because it isn't real, it isn't, 100%.

However, my mother, sister and I have had the same exact, specific dream since our childhoods, and that confuses me. (it is't a common dream like falling or something, it's very, very specific.)
