Do weeds bring negative points to your island rating?

I wanted to enhance my island by putting down some weeds because I think they look better than flowers. Will Isabelle say anything about them if I put them down?

If there’s a bunch of them, yeah. I think I heard you can only have 50 weeds max but not sure. It sucks.

Yea it does. It doesn’t really impact your rating until you have a ton tho. Since I have my forest covered in patterns I can prolly get away with a couple but they can and will spread otherwise.

I have tons of weeds & still have a 5 star rating. Someone told me 100 weeds was the max and I believe it cause one area of my island is all weeds on purpose.

I can confirm. I have 100+ weeds and I have a 5 star rating.

I honestly like how some weeds look in certain parts of my island, but they can grow and get out of hand. If you're worried about it affecting your rating or growth rate there are plenty of weed patterns you can use! A quick google search or request it here you can find some really neat weed patterns that add detail to your island, even flowers and clovers as an extra touch!

I also have a ton of weeds and maintain a 5 star rating. I think if you have enough flowers and furniture you can balance out the weeds, but that's just speculation and what I've heard from other players

I think someone said it and another video, it really depends on how many weeds you have per acre vs how many weeds in total. I had probably had 150 weed scattered across my Island. Still I had a 5-star rating

I mean, I'm guessing if your town was utterly covered in them... maybe. But, like others have said, I've put quite a few around and am still seeing Lily of the Valleys pop up.

...It's only when I drop items off in front of my side character's houses, or leave out DIYs for visitors, that it goes down.

I need this. My study is a mess cuz I feel like that’s the most fitting place for ‘em. Even still the HHA would give me flack for the fall materials I have strewn about my bedroom on purpose lol

I've been letting them grow all over my island for a few werks and they haven't affected my rating yet.

I think the threshold is quite high - like if you were to use weeds as decoration I don't think it negatively affects your island rating unless you use a lot. If anything, items left on the floor affect the rating more (e.g. spare DIYs).

From what I heard weeds had a positive impact on your rating? o: I've got loads, I mean looooads for decoration so I really hope that's not the case that it's negative :s why would they make them pretty if it was bad anyway?
