Do we have to be friend to know who shakes our trees?

Today as i'm AFK and open my gate for everyone for free via the turnips exchange and also put the link in Bell Tree for queuing.
Somebody shook all my money tree (13 money trees T_____________T) When I come back they are arguing on who did it.
I have ended the session and try to talk with my villagers but no one talk about it.

I'm so so sad about this Y_Y"
If I know who shake all my money tree I will put their IGN and Passport so you guys can aware of the scammer.

Sadly, there is no way of finding out who shook your trees unless you were there to see for yourself. Your villagers won't talk about it. I am so sorry that happened. What they did is very disrespectful Maybe next time you can try inviting people over 1 at a time so if something happens, you will know who it was?? Or maybe try not to go afk with people on your island unless you know for sure they can be trusted?? Idk..sorry I'm not able to help x_x

because she grabbing some money and put them in front of my house.
So i don't know why she have to do this if it's her T_T

Oh I see now, at first I thought they will talk about it as they has talked once when I shook many fruits trees.

I had a similar experience too. I allowed people to visit and get DIY freely and someone shook my money tree and also took all the golden roses that I had on display. I know the roses grow back and all, but I thought that it would've been nice if they asked before they do such thing... After this happened, I have started to put fences on paths when I host any events.

because she grabbing some money and put them in front of my house.
So i don't know why she have to do this if it's her T_T

They might just be putting money down because they were outed and wanted to look innocent. Maybe they weren't expecting for anyone to see them steal but when they did, they decided to pretend they were the one being the hero. But I don't know.. I'm really sorry this happened to you.

Really sorry to hear this happened to you. I've been on an island and have seen someone shake a money tree right infront of my eyes then - to exit the island immediately. I have taken to fencing away all of my valuables its sad to have to do it that some people have to ruin it for the majority.

Yeah our villagers only talk about us and no one else. The only time our villagers will talk about other people is to say "this person visited our island from this island" and nothing else. It would be nice though for our villagers to be able to keep an eye on everyone lolol! But I thought about an idea. Maybe you can ask them both for screenshots? If I saw someone being disrespectful I would have taken a picture to showed what happened.

TYSM for the encouraging i'm a lot better now after a long walk.
They are mixed between 10k and 30k but i love how it looks on the tree around my island.
Hopefully the disrespectful one don't do this with anybody else and stop doing things like this.

Yeah, I was going to say when I have best friends over who are doing a lot of activity my villagers have commented on it after they left. As someone said before if Nintendo want's to promote online trade more and more they should utilize the villagers as a "taddle-tale" system to find out who was doing what!

Yes this is what I do as well. I initially opened my island freely, but haven't really done so since someone trampled all my flowers and shook all my trees

Only people I trust are those on my friends list. If I'm hosting via Turnip Exchange, and even here, all access Is restricted.
