Do villagers still visit your house?

So in previous games when you were in your house, sometimes your villagers would knock on your door and come in your house. Is this still a thing in new horizons does anyone know?

Nope. There are many things your villagers no longer do. I used to love playing hide-and-seek with them, having them visit or go to their houses, having me bring another villager to their houses... I hope Nintendo brings those back too.

no! i wish we could schedule visits and things, it felt so much more real and i loved awkwardly sitting in the corner waiting for them to leave, it was so sweet!! i was so bad at getting there on time though...

All of this ^ It feels really unfinished and gets boring quick with these "events". The Town Tree should also come back and Town Ordinance.

I haven't seen it yet either, and have been wondering if it's in the game or not.

Personally, it annoyed me more than was fun to me. I hated having to be there at a specific time and I hated them visiting me out of the blue, forcing me to stop rearranging my furniture. So if it's completely gone, I don't mind.
