I hope starting a new thread for this is okay, but I thought this is one where I probably won't get an easy answer.

Basically, I gave my villagers each a wrapped stack of two peaches a while ago, which I don't usually do. I'm not sure if I had Kevin at the time, but today, he gave me a peach in return for delivering an item from another villager. IIRC, in ACNL, villagers had an "inventory" and could give you items from that, including items you had gifted them, so I'm wondering if it's that, OR if this is potentially a way to collect fruit without having to trade. Maybe for people who do this more often it's just a normal thing, though - I usually gift fossils or iron wall lamps, and haven't gotten either back, but I doubt the villagers would give me them naturally, either.

EDIT: For context, peaches are my sister fruit, so not sure whether or not this would even be helpful, even if it wasn't a peach I gifted him.
