Do villagers forget about their requests the next day?

I think if you still have the delivery in your inventory the day after the request, they will say they're sad or disappointed or something like that (maybe angry with some personalities).

Either that or they just won't mention it and you keep the gift.

Yeah, if you say you will do a request and then dont complete it, your friendship level will go down, but if you say no to the task, it will stay the same.
