Do villagers ask you to replace stuff in their house?

Just wondering if, like in New Leaf, a villager will ask you to replace a current piece of furniture they have.
One of my has been asking for fish like crazy, and now pretty much all of his furniture is gone...so just wondering if I'll have an opportunity to fix that.

I haven't had any villagers ask me specifically to replace a piece of furniture in their house, but you have the option to gift them something every day. I would think, if you give them furniture every day, they will start placing in their their house and removing the fish as they become older items. But there are plenty of illogical things in this game, so it might not work that way.

And when I have a villager whose house I really like the way it is, I just refuse to give them any fish or bugs if they ask for them, and I try to not have any fish or bugs in my inventory when I talk to them so that they can't randomly ask for one that's with me. I feel like losing a friendship point or two for refusing their favor is worth preserving their houses. You can earn friendship back easily enough. Fixing their house is difficult, as you seem to have discovered.

lol yeah it's pretty much just a bed with an aquarium around it...
