Do patterns disappear in your home?

If you place a pattern on your wall/floor do they disappear when you replace your patterns? I know they disappear when you replace path patterns

They get replaced with whatever pattern is in that specific spot in your pattern inventory. So yeah, I guess you could say they "disappear".
