Do Katrina's Lucky Items Actually Work?

I just visited Katrina and she said I need to wear glasses so I'll have good luck. My question is this: what will happen if I wear the glasses? Every time I've received a fortune from Katrina and worn the item of clothing she told me to wear that day, nothing seemed different than before. Does anyone know what actually happens if you wear your good-luck item?
