Do I really have to catch rare fish/bugs to get pics from villagers?

Inkwell and later Freya both asked me for a stringfish... and I thought okay, no big deal.

Until I realized this fish is one of the most rare fish in the whole game. And don't get me started on the coelacanth.

I've heard catching rare fish and bugs is a good way to get pics from Villagers but... I don't know if I want to test my luck trying to find these dang things. Yes I know, I'm lazy. XD

I do have some perfect fruits to give out when they ask for fruit, but that's about it. XD

It definitely helps as it raises your friendship level with them. You don't *have* to do it but it will speed the process up.

I never do it because I don't want the fish or bugs in their houses. But I give them perfect fruit every chance I get and I've gotten several pics this way.

nah. I've never caught anything rare for villagers, but gotten their pics anyway. winning over villagers isn't really too difficult and doesn't require catching rare stuff.
