Do Hotel Guests Affect Nook Miles Islands?

I haven't been paying proper attention when villager hunting and I don't know if the hotel affects who shows up. My guess is yes because then you'd have seen multiple instances of that villager in a day but I'm not 100% sure. I really hope not because this might add a wrench into looking for specific dreamies

I've wondered that too and it does seem probable but at the same time there are so many different instances of villagers at times it's hard to say. For example, when I built the restaurant on the vacation island I set Hamphrey as the chef. At that time he was still living in my town, but when I'd go to the island a version of Hamphrey would be working. After a while Hamphrey moved out of Up Falls then came back as a hotel visitor, and at the same time the chef version of Hamphrey was still working at the resort. It all just breaks my brain.
