Hi everyone!

Today I decided I want to make a town full of Penguins! I'm wondering if any of you have done this with species in your games? Do you remember how long it took you in real time?

I had Cube to start with (I only started in January) and today Roald visited my campsite. That's when I got the idea.

Thanks for reading!

Well at first, I planned to make my town an all-cat town! I was at 8/10 cats then I stopped since I realized I love Genji far too much to make him move out lol it took me just about 2 months to get 8 cats, since I trade villagers a lot eheh..

Ahw, cute idea! I like an one species town thing but I think I will get bored to have the same villagers. I like a bear cub or duck town

I'm lately developing a strong appeal for the hamsters. (The hamsters number eight.) I have had Apple [in my former town Progress]. I am wanting to get Hamlet [for Applewin]. And I have Rodney in my new town, which doesn't yet have a Dream Address. If I get another hamster, aside from my interest in Hamlet, it would be Flurry. I don't have any additional game cartridges to pursue developing another town; so this won't be happening for me.

I'm going for all cats(and Marshal becuz i need a smug).

Thanks for the replies!

The only thing putting me off all Penguins is my town name = Fortloch. I called it that because I live in Scotland. And it's a very Scottish sounding name. So a town full of deers, rabbits or wolves (although we don't have wolves here anymore) would make a lot more sense. :)

I'm tempted to buy another cartridge if I ever see AC:NL go cheap anywhere. I have most of the other AC games though. Unfortunately, I gave WW to a friend to borrow and they never returned it.

rage, Marshal is my favourite squirrel. I adore him.

Candy83, the hamsters are adorable. I've heard some dislike for them over the internet. Right now I have Clay in my town. I could hug them all!

tokkio, I'm afraid the same thing might happen to me. I am attached to Molly and Dotty. I think when they move out (if they do) it'll be a sad day for Fortloch.

I'm really hoping to get an all cat town going myself, but it's pretty tricky

I have an all dog town. ( just need one more) and a town with all 8 hamsters.

I think it's fun trying for all of one species. It really didn't take that long, because of all the great people with cycling towns on tbt.

I think the hardest part is trying to get the last two unwanted villagers to move out. Pippy refuses to leave. Once she moves out, I can try to get my last dog villager.

My original town of Balamb currently has three hamsters (got Flurry last night and she's been on my dreamie list since she camped in my town and I had no room for her) and my second town, Bunifrey is going to have mostly bunnies since I made it in tribute to my dearly departed Bun Bun, so I'm probably gonna move Bunnie to that town and also try to get Ruby.

I like the idea of a one-animal town, but I try to get at least one of each personality type in my towns and the animal categories seem to lack...diversity in that regard.

I wanted to do an all wolf town but they kind of say similar things! Although I will still be getting my favorites! I have 3 right now, sad that Fang moved out without me knowing!!!!

If I ever start another town, I'm tempted to call it Duckburg and have only ducks ^_^

I would really love to have that sort of town, but if have to give up on all my dreamies. Plus I'd have to find new dreamies and a species that has villagers i actually like! Too hard for me (>人<;)

I think you should still consider going for it, regardless of the Scottish name. I almost think penguins are suitable for it, actually, because you could say their a step away from puffins.

And both are awesome. :P

i don't like having more than 1 of the same species. My town consists of Julian, Marshal, Vladimir, Erik, Snake, Rosie, Molly, Freya, Cherry and Lily! I have been tempted while trying to get my dreamies, but in the end it all worked out!

I have a duck town and a frog town.It took about two weeks to assemble the villagers for my duck town,Quackle and about three weeks to get ten frogs together in my frog town,Newt.Getting the villagers wasn't very hard because these are not the most popular species.Getting the non-duck and non-frog villagers to move out was the most time consuming aspect of it all.Penguins are a good choice of species because none of them are mega popular and all eight personality types are represented. If I have one piece of advice to give it would be to pick your favorite nine or ten penguins and stick with them. There's 12 penguins in the game so you'll have only two or three "spares".I made the mistake of letting some of my ducks move and now I only have one spare,Deena, who I'm not crazy about.Good luck with your town.

I have a town of all Deer and a town of all Horses.
The deer in my main town just kind of happened because I realised I had 7 between 3 towns and moved them together, and then while putting them together adopted another and then just gave into it and went for them all. xD
The horse town was kind of a side project that I gave up before I got round to decorating it. Though I got all 10 villagers as horses twice (one left by accident, so am glad there's 13 of them!). One day I'll make my cosmos fields for it and do something with the house.
