DIY Message in a Bottle

Being a single player who plays during all hours of the day on a daily basis since launch, I'd have expected to get at least 2 at some point if it were true. Today, I collected my first message bottle right when it hit 5 a.m. I will see if there's an additional one in the evening.
Unless I see concrete proof of this other than hearsay (because I know the bottles can easily be missed if someone doesn't scour the beach much while playing), I'll stick with with 1 bottle for single on one's own Island theory - not counting the Nook Miles Islands as I know you can easily get additional recipes there.

Same, I have 1,050 hours in the game right now, having played every single day since launch, and I've only found one a day so far.

The only quirks to this I can personally confirm are that other characters on your island can find an additional bottle. And the other being the mystery tours occasionally (but not always) having message bottles.

I get two daily. But I have two players. Pretty sure its to give each player a chance tonfind one.

Confirmed by myself and a friend you can get up to 3 per day per character, mount of characters on your island makes no difference in how many you get on a single characters save. So I have 4 characters and can get up to 12 bottles per day if I check back in morning, noon, and evening. It doesn’t seem to be guaranteed though, and seems to have a higher chance of spawning if you’ve saved an quit, then reloaded in a few hours later to play again!

This happened to me the other day.
I have 2 alt profiles and my main.
I got on my main, got my bottle, did my dailies, then got on each of my alts I got on to get bottle and order from the shop catalog. I did not get back on either of my alts the rest of the day.
Later that day I had a friend visit to visit a villager crafting. As they were exploring the rest of my island (they are an irl friemd) he told me I had a bottle on the beach. I was super confused since at this time I never had the 2 bottle a day that does happen (i didn't even know it could happen lmao.)
So I get my bottle, he goes home, and I start working on my island again. I was focused on stylizing about 4 sections of beach so I kept going between the areas.
That's when I found it.
ANOTHER BOTTLE
So I got 3 bottles on that character that day.

I dont think it is normal tho?
Maybe a glitch that can happen?
I was mystery island hopping most of the day so I got an absurd about of extra diys that day on top of those 3. @.@

I’m 100% sure it’s not a glitch at all, I really think it’s just being vigilant and some level of RNG. Becausd it happens almost daily for me getting 2 bottles. I’ve done where I logged into all 4 of my accounts, find my one bottle each, log off, come back later on all accounts and I only got a second bottle for 3/4 of them. So I think there’s a level of luck to it

i did some more experiments and it seems that they spawn 12-ish hours apart? it worked for me most of the time, but ig its just rng

I remember getting two a day around launch but have only ever had one since. I’m playing with only one character on my island.

400+ hours in and I only recently created another account to create a differently-themed house.

Yes, I've only ever gotten 1 bottle as a single player and yes, the second account gets 1 bottle as well.

However, there is a glitch / catch to this:

If the first person who opens the game (doesn't matter which account) doesn't collect their bottle before logging off, then the next account who logs in will get both their bottle AND the bottle of the first person and if the first person logs back in, they will NOT get a bottle.

I'm currently in the process of seeing if this glitch repeats for wasps and items falling from trees.

I swear up and down that I've always gotten 3 wasps and 1 item before I created my second account, but now that I have a second account, I can get 5 wasps and 2 items... But only if the bottle "glitch" happens.

My number of trees hasn't changed, my location of trees hasn't changed, my layout around my trees hadn't changed.

The only thing that's changed is the addition of a second account.

I play every day, at least 12 hours apart, combing the beaches at all hours, only ever 1 bottle. There's no way I would never have seen a second one if it spawned. Guess my island doesn't work that way, alas!

I've gotten 2 in a single day, and have heard they spawn every 12 hours. But if they do spawn 3 max per day, it would mean they are spawning every 8 hours.

I have two players in my island and I only ever get one bottle per day. If I TT without picking up a bottle no new ones spawn until I collect the one that's available.

I only check once a day though. So I don't know if that's why.

All the people who get multiple bottles have at least 2 player accounts.
For people such as myself with just one account, you can only get one bottle.
I tested it with logging right when it hit 5 a.m. and then I scoured the beach later on - nothing.
I scour the beach multiple times a day looking for shells and Celeste at night and I ever only get ONE bottle so I doubt that it's a case of bad RNG in my case - I'd have at least come across one extra at this point.
