Dislike my layout

I just got the game a little over a month ago and have been playing without putting much thought into the placement of permanent things as well as villager houses and now I'm extremely unhappy with my map. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do/how to build around what I currently have so I don't dislike it so much. So far I'm thinking of destryoing the bridge by the coffee shop and putting it elsewhere.

Also another villager is going to move in where my characater marker on the map is which is going to make that area even more crowded :/

Your layout is awesome! I especially like the river placement! Maybe you should remove the 2 ponds and be left with 2, because that's a bit too many ponds, and it wastes space. Also you can put your villager houses in groups to conserve space but also be organized, (if you want). Also I think the Coffee Shop is a bit too close the bridge, I think you should move it to a cliff side or somewhere other than the bridge (make sure it's not too close to the Plaza or train station either. Also If you (ARE ABLE TO), try and move your town hall, too close to the campsite and I feel like it blocks the entrance. Overall it's great.

Hm well you've got a lot of lakes. Make it a park? If you lay down patterns one every 3x3 spacesand leave open some 3x3 spaces you can have villagers move there. I'd line up houses right of the train station in the strip of land the river made. Or left the coffee shop.

All layouts can be good layouts, I agree about moving the bridge below the cafe. Maybe move it to the area where the gyroid is?

Yikes, I guess I should've mentioned that I'm not interested in hacking my game. But yeah, mainly I wish I hadn't picked a map with so many ponds, especially so close together like they are since they take up space. I like the park idea though!

I really like your layout, except for the amount of ponds. And they're all aligned in a row too. If you really are finding it crowded, I'm not sure if there's a way to make more space considering the ponds each take up the amount of space needed for a villager house and more even, and you have 4! Have you considered resetting? If you don't want to do that, I'm sure this layout will inspire a lot of creativity in order to work around these problems, and you'll be really proud of yourself

If you're not crazy about your layout, I think you should just reset. This goes especially if you're not happy with the permanent buildings and the ponds. I think that's good enough reason tbh.

Are your villager homes permanent? If yes, I'd definitely would recommend trying to work with it. I completely agree about putting your middle bridge in another location like close to right side of the river lake. If none of your current villagers are dreamies, then I'd recommend putting the dreamies in the top right in a horizontal line. I think that'll create much needed space for you to put up PWPs.

I have considered resetting. I'm just worried I'd regret it and not enjoy the game afterwards.

Permanent villagers are another name for dreamies aka the villagers you want to keep in your town forever.
