[Discussion] Potential to allow more villagers on your island

I'd love just one more villager, I think. Maybe two. I think 15 is maaaybe too much with how many personalities we have, but it'd be nice for the player to have that kind of choice!

I just wish the villagers explored more. they mainly hang around resident services, and anything not in a close proximity is often ignored.

I agree with many that 15 is a lot, I have my 10 houses lined up with no extra room for houses, but hey I would love more villagers! I just kicked out one of my villagers and I’m searching for my last dreamie.. but have 4 options, it’s just who I run into first. If I had 2 extra spots I would love it, my only problem is the space.. especially with people who line their houses up like I do

I wish the limit was 12 tbh. I like more than one of each personality type and it's hard to limit myself when I have a ton of a particular personality I like. Then I don't have to rotate my villagers out as much.

15 is too many with just eight personalities.

I'd love this as an option. I'm planning on one of each personality plus an extra normal and uchi, but I could easily have two of each personality (apart from the jocks, I've had enough trouble even finding one I can live with). 15 would probably be perfect for me.

give me 18 slots so i can legit have all the squirrels in my town

but fr i could do with an extra two or maybe 3 slots but i think anything higher than 16 (16 itself is pushing it) is way too much and if they do go that route they should make it optional plots. remodeling my town would be a drag if it was forced.

i’d love this! people should have the option. i’d love 2 more personally to cycle through some new villagers for fun since i share my island with my fiancé and we have all our favourites already haha. my dream is for them to add new personalities and increase the cap in the same update! we were able to have more in GC so it’s a shame it wasn’t brought at least a bit higher than new leaf.

But yeah, perhaps my biggest disappointment with this game is that the villager cap wasn't raised to like 12 or something. There are several villagers I like but can't have because we're limited to only ten. Having the option of 2-5 more would be great.

I don’t think this is a rumor so much as wishful thinking. Still, they built in eight non-animal villager slots already, most of which will never be filled, so I’d be all for being allowed to reallocate some of those for more villagers as an option. Who legit has eight actual different players sharing one island?

I would love some more since there are so many villagers I want, but not unless they make our islands bigger. I'm struggling to fit everyone as of now, I can't imagine having 12 or 15

I'd be interested in building more houses if they were actual projects like hotels, restaurants, schools, etc. (like in HHD)
The 8 player thing seems really silly to me - are being actually playing with their aunt and grandpa on the one device? lol...
I think giving us an option of how many villagers we want would make so much sense. That way both parties would be happy - those who want the 10 villager limit and those who want more. I think I can only see creating max one extra player down the line just for decorating options.

I feel like I wouldn't mind a few extra villagers, as some villagers I have currently, I wouldn't be able to keep if I want my dreamy of that personality type :c With the ability to have more than 10 villagers I feel like I would be able to have a few more options, and along with this, if I found a villager I wanted in the campsite, I could quickly make a plot for them And I wouldn't have to kick anyone out

I prefer 12 imo. It kinda makes sense since then you can collect each villager of the zodiac, or have it so that you have a birthday each month. But other than that, 15 feels a little too much for me but I’d be happy to have more than 10 though.

I have had daily struggles and internal turmoil (or inturmoil as I don't like to call it) I want Hopkins and Tia so very very badly but they're repeat personalities of mine and I wanted at least 7/8 of the personality types at one time. this would completely solve that dilemma for me and I would lichrally take it over a lot of loved features that are missing like the cafe or gyroids.

I do wonder if the devs underestimated how much players would be focusing on acquiring certain characters. They seem to have designed this edition of the game to cycle through many villagers and some of the more contentious aspects of villager-related gameplay reflect that. It seems like it would be an easy fix to just free up the different player slots, but I don’t know if they’d want to since they don’t seem to want players to keep the same villagers (though they did ensure players could always keep and control via Amiibo and turning down move requests who their villagers are, so maybe they would be open to it?)

I would love to have the option as well. And it would make sense since that whole bit about getting NookMiles whenever someone new moved into a plot you set up felt so quick and weird to me.

Also they really need to make the last plot only be claimed if you invite someone, it's a pain having to TT andhave someone move out whenever I wanna go island hopping for different villagers.
