So I'm planning on getting a 2nd copy soon. However, I'm torn between getting another physical copy or getting a digital copy. Getting a physical copy would probably be cheaper but I only have 1 ds so I'd worry about losing one of them.

What would you suggest?

I have a digital copy, and I haven't ran into any problems as of yet and I've had it since release day.

Don't believe the rumor that digital copies corrupt a lot easier than physical copies. It's a dumb rumor and a physical copy has just a big a chance to corrupt than digital copies. Just take the usual precautions and you'll be fine.

If you do end up getting two physical cards, make sure to mark one of them with a sharpie or something to tell the difference between the two. :3

I'm not too worried about any data corruption rumors since I'm always really careful when saving and such.
I'm just worried about losing a 2nd copy even if I mark it since I'm really absent-minded with small objects.. Although I do have an old mint container that I use to keep my other ds games in.

I have both a physical and digital copy. Since I only have one 3ds, I had to get a digital copy. It's much easier to switch between my two towns c:

I say it doesn't matter either way although it would be more convenient to get a digital copy imo

You'd have to keep switching cartridges out if you plan on playing both consistently whereas with digital you can just move a couple rows in the dashboard to your digital game :3

Being able to switch between games easier with the digital copy does sound really nice.

I've heard stories that the digital tends to corrupt more than an actual copy. Well, wtf do I know. I say physical. I rather have an actual copy.

So have I but I've also heard horror stories exclusive to the physical copies so imo I would say they are completely even.

I have a digital copy and never have had any troubles with it. For whatever thats worth. Its your choice, but I would definetly go for a physical copy and a digital copy if I went for 2 games. Since it would be really easy to alternate between versions.

Its also kinda nice that the game that I got to play daily is always with me. Kinda makes sense to me.

you should get physical. i have digital and i regret it, since i hear stories about sd card not being recognized after removing the sd card and putting it back in. i'm super scared to touch the sd slot.

I've taken my SD card out MANY times to upload pictures to my computer/switch to Pokemon X. It won't do anything.

I've heard of data corruptions in digital copies.
Also in physical copiers but not as much

There is a 0.000001% chance of a saved game corrupting randomly. 99.9% of the time, data corruptions are at the fault of the user. Turning the game off to early, forgetting to eject your SD card before removing it from the computer, etc, can cause your data to corrupt.

There is no actual proof that digital copies corrupting more often than physical copies. In fact, the past week, the majority of the "my game corrupted!" threads I've seen have all been physical copies.

I've actually had this problem before with my physical copy after removing the sd card to move screenshots to my laptop. All it took to fix it was taking the sd card back out and putting it back in again.

I have both okay. (Short because I don't know how many times I've replied to these kind of threads)
Anyways, my cycling town is on my digital copy, and my main is on my cartridge/physical copy. I prefer physical though, since my SD card isn't recognized half of the time.
