Didn't get all my star fragments after a meteor shower?

So last night Celeste showed up for my (1st!!) meteor shower. I must've made at least 100 wishes or so give/take. Today I got a little less than 30 star fragments of various types. What gives? I thought I was supposed to get the number of wishes I made? I have in the past. Is this new or is there a cap maybe on how many you can get? Thanks.

I think 20 to 30 has always been the limit. No one has ever gotten 100 in 1 day from wishing on 1 character.

I think the limit is twenty? If you have another player in your town, they can get twenty as well

I usually get about fifteen.

I've only had two meteor showers since I started in april though.

Try picking up all your shells/fragments. I don't think you'll get to 100, but you might get a few more once slots open up for spawning on the beaches. I know that's worked for me before.

Have you looked on your beaches more than once? I find if I restart the game or go visit someone and come back that there's always a few more there!

Despite wishing over 70-100+ times during meteor showers, I have never gotten more than 20 star fragments. Except the very first time, which was 30, I think.

you can also get extra if guests come over and make wishes on your island too

I never gotten more than 20 (combination of star, large and zodiac fragments) but it's cool. I would just TT if I need more.

This is my experience with star fragments. I have never had less than 20 fragments when wishing on my own island, and never more than 20 wishing on others.

Thanks all for the replies. This being my first shower, I didn't know there was a cap. I got a total of 35 star fragments (of various types). I guess next shower I won't waste my time past 35 wishes!

20 wishes on your island will get you 20 stars. If you have more characters, they each can get 20 stars too.

If people come over and make wishes, you can get 20 more for a max of 40.

If you make wishes on other islands, you have to wish 100 times. You get one fragment per 5 wishes on other islands with a max of 20 fragments total.

20 wishes is the limit; anything after the 20th wish won't do anything.
