I remember playing this game in my childhood, those were some good times. I didn't beat the game yet. I have been recently looking up YouTube videos of Diddy Kong Racing and their courses wondering if Nintendo would use some of the courses from Diddy Kong Racing and import them in Mario Kart 8 as DLC. Hot Top Volcano would be a good choice because when you get to the long lava area, the walls would be great spots for zero gravity. Good ol' Nostalgia from Diddy Kong Racing, it makes me want to play the game again. :)

I'd also like it to be real. I bet it'll be fake, some of it seems a little funky :( But it'd be awesome to have a racing game that does boat & planes too that has better controls than Sonic Racing wow terrible sometimes

Diddy Kong Racing was an amazing game!! I used to play it all the time when I was younger x3 I still have it now actually haha. I think it would be so cool if they had DKR courses in a Mario Kart game since Diddy Kong was in Mario Kart Wii. I hope those rumors about DKR2 are confirmed too, that would be amazing :D

Diddy Kong Racing was a great contender to Mario Kart during the heydays of Nintendo 64. That happened when Rare, Nintendo's beloved second party company, decides to combine both Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 into one content-packed madness. I remember having a lot of fun exploring around the game's main hub and racing through its well detailed tracks. Mario Kart 64 was bare-bone compared to this game!

There's also the DS remake of the game, but there are some detractors that may be enough to put off some people away from it. For starters, the start boost is now forced to touch screen or mic interaction as opposed to pressing A button at the right moment, the online feature is now disabled as of May 2014 and Conker and Banjo were replaced by Dixie Kong and Tiny Kong. I recommend to stick with the N64 version unless you're desperately hankering for a portable version of it.
