Did you preorder The Last of Us?

Oh yes. I am looking forward to it very much, though I'm not sure I'll be able to put down New Leaf to kill some zombies.

I doubt it's really worth full price, seeing as it's another zombie game and all. May be worth $30 or so, but at the moment, I'd rather take season 2 of The Walking Dead for a cinematic game.

My husband did, since I can't play that style of game (at least it won't be pretty). It's coming out tomorrow, which is his birthday, which is just so random, so we'll be picking it up early and he's taking tomorrow off work to play it all day. :3

The guys who work at our local GameStop have already played it and they said it was awesome, best zombie game ever. Metacritic score is a 96. Lowest score it got was from Tom McShea on GameSpot, who gave it an 8 for reasons that he actually justified for the game in his review (he says the NPCs lack empathy and he dropped a point for that, but then he started his review talking about how you needed to dump your morals and fend for yourself in this game).

Good luck to all who play it! I'll be spectating this one.

Maybe you should do a little more research about the game? This is Naughty Dog, they're one of the few developers who know what they're doing. I've heard nothing from this game but great reviews.

It's a survival-horror game with action-platforming mechanics and the "zombies" are more of a design challenge rather than being simple obstacles to obliterate. If all you took from it was cinema, you should really give the game play some deeper analysis. It pretty much took everything good about Uncharted, sandwiched it with survival-horror ala Resident Evil, and added in strategic choice elements. As much as I like the Walking Dead's writing--it is an entirely different playing experience with different merits. Last of Us strikes the right balance between playing and watching. It's a little more than standard zombie fare.

Didn't pre-order because of bills, but I'm ordering Monday.

We preordered it! Hopefully picking up later today, if not, tomorrow. I love these style games lol

We preordered it!

Why do you speak in plurals? =) Hehe, just kidding!

Ack! I missed out on the steelbook edition! I'll be collecting my basic copy later today! Ordered the season pass too; although my MP skill lie in the range of "Ben... yes, you go that way while we cover this corner."

"AFFIRMATIVES!" 8)

I'll have to look into this game, everyone has been saying it's good. As long as it's not another shoot-'em-up game.

Also, is it scary?

There's a lot of gunplay but you could probably get through a decent chunk of the game without firing a gun if you go stealth, melee only, and go about situations strategically.

Its kind of scary, it really depends I guess. I mean playing through it with the lights off will probably scare ya in a few segments, but it doesn't rely on any "jump" scares. Most scares for me came through mismanagement of supplies during intense fighting.

I've put a few hours and it's really fun. I just hate that I'm so focused on Animal Crossing. I really should play it tonight. I also need to finish Ni no Kuni.

I'm a scaredy cat but I like games like the Last of Us. The part that scared me the most (so far) was when Ellie tried to whistle. I jumped so bad that my boyfriend had to ask me if I was okay lol

I haven't beat it yet, I'm taking it slow and don't play it everyday. I just passed the part where
You get ambushed by the hunters or whatever they were called
