Hey Everyone! I thought I would post some fun (I guess) 'secrets' about Animal Crossing New Leaf. This list will consist of helpful tips, some cute secrets, and some things you just may of not noticed or knew before. This is just from experience playing, I will be posting a new post next about how to get 10 Villagers which seems to be a problem with some players.
Animals
-If Animals are happy they will start to sing your town tune
-Animals will tell you which way your outfit is leaning toward, 'Cute' 'Preppy' 'Sporty' these tips can help impress Gracie
-Animals will tell you how well your Museum is coming along, as you go through the rooms you may find one of your villagers talk to them and they will comment on if the exhibit feels barren or full
-If you go into an Animals house and like the song that is playing just go click on the jukebox (or whatever furniture they used to play it) it will bring up the name of the song, then just request it Saturday nights with KK Slider in clubLOL
-Carry around a bug, fish, clothing, furniture you don't want but isn't worth selling (Low price to sell) animals will walk up to you and may ask for a trade for something more valuable
-If an Animal asks you to go to their home always say yes, once you lead them there keep talking to them sometimes they will ask if anything catches your eye and can sell you some furniture you may of wanted for a while (some animals will also send you a gift for coming over!)
-If an Animal comes over, press A repeatedly near an instrument they will clap
-Don't talk to the Villagers too much/often, if they don't see you for a while when you pass them then they will 'flash' and come up to you more constantly then if you keep talking to them. This will lead to more public work project ideas
-Try to have a diverse Town, there are many different types of Animals and the villagers will tell you who doesn't get along and who does but more items and ideas will show up with many different types of villagers.
Island
-Island tours won't just get you metals! If you go on a tour like the fishing tour, bug catching tour, hiding seek tour, or fossil tour (not the matching one!) you will see either Mango, Lemon, Lychee, or Durian trees just shake them and take the fruit! It will save to your bag and once you get back to the island you can put them in the box to ship them home. (This rule also applies for flowers)
-Want more Butterflies to appear? Plant some more flowers around in the grassy area of the Island (You can get flowers through the gardening tour)
-Want more Beetles? Plant more trees! Use fruit from tours or already on the island to plant a few extra trees
-If you go diving around the island swim further away from the shore, you can scare off Fish yet close enough to see if any rare or large fish go near the island. As long as they are still in your screen it won't disappear.
-Sharks will randomly appear by the island, I seem to catch more sharks and large fish at night, morning, or during a rainy time.
House
-A lot of Furniture has fun animations, For example the Hamster Cage has a hamster running on a wheel inside it (S/He is brown and white!), Kitchen Sinks can be turned on (The computer desk too), Marry Go Round spins, you can knock on bathroom stalls, Karaoke Machine plays music and so on
-If you get a picture of an Animal, click on it (Press A) a small caption will appear
-If an Animal comes over (You invite them) they will explore your whole house (You can lead them into different rooms) talking to them they will comment on weather it is a good or bad room plus will send you furniture they think will 'fit' your style or needs. If you have very barren walls they may send you a wall piece of furniture.
-You can place items on top of dressers but you will not be able to open the dresser drawer
-You can hang up any of the designs you create on the wall of your home, but keep in mind if you change the art the painting will change too! (This also includes custom made furniture from Cyrus)
Note: This rule does not apply the the Museum Posters
Using Tools
Microphone: Very helpful to search for Animals and wake Gulliver but if you use it next to an animal S/he will get very upset

ClubLol Dr. Shrunk will not just eat Fruit! He will eat candy, chocolate, etc so test this out.
Fun Things To Do
Cliff Diving
Using your Emotions from ClubLOL on different Characters, and groups of Characters. Kapp'n wife will respond different then his daughter or grandmother, if there is a group of Animals try using one of the emotions
Using D Pad to Dance at ClubLOL
Collecting the Mario, Luigi, and Wario hats
Hitting Villagers with Nets or pushing them in pitfall seeds
Helpful Tidbits
Tired of pulling weeds? And paying that Sloth guy to do it for you? Just put down fabric, you can make paths with it as well
Public Work Projects worth Building Early: A bridge, ClubLOL (no cost), Campsite, Second Floor of Museum
Get a garbage pail! It may be hard to find (Nooklings store, camper may have it, or a villager) but once you have it you can put in in your home and throw away garbage from the waters near your town! (Instead of paying a fee to get rid of it)
Keep flower breeds together (but different colors of the bread together), lilies with lilies, or Roses with Roses this will help different colors to appear more frequently!
