Did you ever want your Character to be an animal?

Hello everybody,

I hope this wasn't asked before, I tried to search for it in the forums, but nothing came up.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anybody ever wanted their main Character to be an animal villager?
I still remember when I heard of Animal Crossing for the first time and saw that the player character is a human, I somehow thought that is really weird. You, being the only human that lives in a village full of animals.

Since that day, I always wished you could be an animal villager yourself as an option.
I have actually no idea how that would actually work out in the game or how you would pick what species you were from. I could imagine there being a couple different and exclusive color, pattern and face variants you could pick from (when visiting Shampoodle you could then change fur color and pattern). Of course this would be handled the same way you pick your human appearance, by answering questions from Rover.

I somehow think it could be a cool feature some day in the future. It would make me feel like I belong more into the Animal Crossing world personally. Being the only human can feel weird at times, haha.

What are your thoughts?

Yes! I really wanted to be a squirrel because I love how short they are and how their tails bounced up and down.

I definitely think it could make things more interesting. Maybe you could decide on what personality you can get too! And how that determines which villager personality types you will get along with and everything else.

I'd love to be either a normal or lazy cat villager myself lol.

I've always wanted to be an animal in AC, haha. I'd probably want to be a normal bunny. ^_^

I think I would go for a bird or a cat, both look so cute!

Yea, Actually I want to transfer myself into the game and let myself be loved by a mayor. I would be the best character the game has.

Yeaa, I love pandas xD. Not like Chester tho. His mouth is a lil creepy... I wish I could be a cute panda bear character (maybe like Maple, a cute bear cub, but a panda lol )

I like the idea of the character being human. It's a weird concept that there would be one human in a town full of animal villagers but it makes sense to me, it's as though your character was a normal person who accidentally ended up there. It's more mysterious that way and like a fairy tale of some kind.

Being able to play an animal character would be awesome, though, and I wouldn't mind it if it were an option, especially for the side characters. I'd probably pick a goat (I like their design, it looks really neat) or a sheep (their design is cool and I like how they wear t-shirts as scarves).

Back on the GameCube animal crossing I was quite disappointed I couldn't be an animal.
