Did you ever reset? Why or why not? ;3

Not in New Leaf, City Folk, or Wild World, but basically every other week in the original. I just liked the seemingly randomly generated towns.
I'd like to have another town for New Leaf, probably going to need to invest in another copy of the game, though. I love my current town and residents, it's just not a good setup to make a fancy town with paths and all.

No to Hanamura. I picked one of the first four maps that were offered to me. I only had an hour to play before going out to a formal dinner and then an awards show, so I wanted to pick a map / build my house before I left so that the game would have the correct start date. :)

Yes to Konohana. There are a lot of flaws with Hanamura, but I'm too attached to it to reset. I was very picky about the map and I wanted it to have at least 1-2 starter villagers that I liked (I got lucky and liked 4/5: Rosie, Tank, Daisy, and Diana) - so I reset many times over a space of four days before finding a town I was happy with.

Yes on July 23rd i restarted, and started my new town Azalea, and its been the best decision ever, i have an amazing group of villagers, i have got lots of pictures off them
Much better PWP requests, a much better layout

I never reset towns, or profiles on any game for that matter, until the next game in the series comes out. I will probably keep my town for a very long time unless it corrupts or I have to get a new 3DS.

Do you play a digital copy of the game then?

I've reset quite a few times in past times (with the exception of City Folk, where I reset billions of times). But I'll keep my town for a very long while in New Leaf.

I have 2 copies of ACNL. I started my first game and then the second one. When I got off the 2nd train and saw that I had pears just like the 1st town... RESET. Same thing happened in WW, pears in both towns, but I didn't know then that you could just reset until you got something different. So glad I knew it this time around. As far as the map goes, I just choose the best of the 4 offered. I do not regret resetting at the beginning, but wouldn't do it after playing for a while.

I wasn't aware of that back in WW either. I'd already been playing quite a while when I found out online that you could get (a) different maps and (b) different fruit. I figured that either everyone had the same layout/fruit or that it was pre-set with the cartridge or something. I was a pretty dumb 13yo, yes.

I reset on the very first day since I was unhappy with the face I initially ended up with, haha.
I don't have any plans to reset in the future, though.

I did reset a lot and I noticed that the river can have an impact on how much stuff you can build. I've found a map that has suited my needs, plenty of land to work with, the starting buildings were in places that were suitable, only one bridge is required. Yeah, it was worth it.

Now I need to work on making the roads and planning where the PWP projects will go.

No, I loved my layout and most of my starting villagers so I haven't felt the need to reset :)

I wasn't sure how to see more than one map when I first got my game, haha, so I stuck with the first map and the first face as I had some pretty amazing characters at the beginning. I don't like my layout and I don't have the nicest face, and I accidentally sold my perfect peach and haven't had one since, which makes me want to reset - however, I've done so much work on my town now that I couldn't bring myself to reset it now, so I'll just live with it unless I decided to get another copy one day.
