What I mean is did you know exactly what you wanted your exterior to look like right away, or did you play around with things for a while? I'm curious because once I saw the mermaid things, I've been buying them right away. :p

I didn't plan. I just went with the flow, experimented with a couple exteriors.
I still don't have my Interior figured out >.<

I saw someone in a dream town with a fairy tale castle theme when I first started playing in June and was set on getting it. Haven't changed it in 4 months @_@. Might switch to the gingerbread/candy theme though.

I didn't plan anything. I just went with it.

I go with my themes =x but for the arrange I figure it out after I get the set hahaha~ before that happen everything is randomly place first!

Every room in my house is a storage closet lol. Although I have been filling my main room with cabana + exotic furniture since I quite like the set. And lots of plants.

My plan is to expand my house fully before decorating. The idea will probably backfire once it's done though. .

For my mayors house, as soon as I saw the mermaid exterior I needed to have it all. c:
Now that I know what all of the exteriors look like I've decided what the rest of my houses will look like. So I guess I haven't really played around with different exteriors, I think they look better as a full set.

I chose as I went along. I've just mixed themes: My mailbox is pink, my paving stones are pink, my exterior is blue and pink, my roof is blue, my door is pink, and my fence is the candy one.

The second I found out that I could live in a gingerbread house, no other options were considered. I love things that look delicious
All three of my player houses have the sweets exterior. And all are the basic house shape, because it looks the most like a traditional gingerbread house.

I had my eye on a gingerbread door, and figured the house would just look silly without the rest of the sweets exterior pieces. It matches my interior too, since I'm making my house look like a cafe.

I initially planned on having a rustic, wooden house after seeing the barrel mailbox (I think that's what it's called? Looks like a little log), and the country fence. I think I'll do that with one of my pattern mules' house.

For my other pattern mule, I saw the fancy fence (the metallic silver one) and just went with it. Recently bought a metal mailbox to go with the fence, and I'm thinking of doing a minimal look for the house. I'll just keeping checking Nook's to see what else works with what I have so far.

I went with the Modern exterior shape, wasn't terribly interested in the others. Kinda wish they put more effort into them and exterior parts.

I still don't know what I want my exterior to look like!
The pink exterior is soooo cute but there is not a door that properly matches it.

ugh

It took me some time to find out what I wanted my house to look like. First I had a full mermaid exterior..the grew bored. Then I went with a sweets look. Now I have a chalet exterior with a pink roof and mailbox. Sweet and simple.
The second characters house is all black as it's a haunted house.. Thought it was appropriate.
Third character I am trying to get mostly sweet exterior. Mainly the roof, door and mailbox.. Though they never show up in nooks anymore. :/

In my second town I wanted a more natural look to the town so my mayor has a log cabin house. ^^

I usually plan when I get my town, and I plan what themes I want. In the beginning I just place things that look good inside my house until I can find the specific series I'm looking for. :)
