Did villagers stop giving out duplicate DIYs?

Did villagers stop giving out DIYs when you already have the DIY with the new update? I have a bunch of them, over 200, and I have been collecting DIYs for my island mates (mostly my sister, but I share my island with 3 other people) as well. So if I have it, I cycle it around. But I just visited an island with a villager crafting, and even though he was still crafting, he wouldn't give me the DIY. Is that new? Or maybe it was a glitch with that one island and that one villager? I haven't tested this a second time, but when I do I will let you know.

Yep, they still give out duplicates. Pashmina just gave me a leaf umbrella DIY. She was even the one who originally gave the recipe to me once upon a time on my first day playing.
