I talked to Sherb, who is a lazy villager, who is normally super chill and sweet and childlike, and he suddenly busted out this rant about wind chimes.

And I was taken aback by how un-lazy-like it was. I wonder if somehow, this bit of dialogue was actually intended for a cranky villager to say. It would fit a cranky's personality perfectly, using words like "ain't" and "folks," and just being generally angry about the whole thing. Other than the snack part, I suppose, but a cranky might attribute that kind of outburst to being hungry, too, so...

What do you think? Is this intentionally a lazy thing to say, or was it perhaps supposed to be for crankies instead?

Ive never had this dialogue, it does sound more fitting for crankies but it also seems like he’s hangry 🥺 get the boy a snickers.

Since he segues into needing a snack, I'd say it's definitely not mixed up dialogue.

I love wind chimes. I have a tiny one on the balcony and I would love to live somewhere I could have a big one with lots of sound ♡

Same. My parents had them when I was growing up, and I loved hearing them. I live in an apartment now, so I don't get to hear windchimes anymore. 🥺

I agree the wording is slightly more reminiscent of cranky than lazy (for the reasons you pointed out). I've noticed since the most recent (ha) update my villagers have had different conversations than normal every so often so maybe they're trying to appease the people who are a little sick of the gross bug and sloppy food talk.

It does seem more cranky at first, but the last bit about snacks makes it seem like this rant is not typical of him (which would be true for lazies), so I think it's just a more unique lazy dialogue. I don't think it was any kind of mix-up.

Besides, lazies have a definite dark side that peeks through. They talk to bugs in creepy ways, I've had them tell me why they aren't allowed on planes/to drive anymore, and then there's the wall clowns:

(they also talk about "night clowns" when asked to move in from the campsite when you have to move out a villager for them)
So, yah. They've got an edge to them, which makes the dialogue more fitting IMO.

It sounds Cranky to me since lazy villagers don't usually say ain't but maybe it is for lazy villagers sin e I've never got that diaoulge before

ive had a few odd situations with non-crankies myself. i have toby in my town, and audie as well and both of them have recently gone off on tirades about random nonsense and literally been stomping around super angry as well. i suppose i should move their homes lol!
