Did I Do Something Incorrectly?

So, Puddles moved in randomly as my 10th villager a few days ago. I was saving that spot for someone else, and quite frankly, I do not like her. I spoke to her once (she introduced herself), and proceeded to Time Travel for about five days, each day checking to see if she would ping me, to tell me that she would be moving out. This did not happen. It worked the last time that I did it (a month or two ago). I found out the method from a YouTube video, I believe. If any of you use this method, can you tell me if I made a mistake? I went back to normal time after this, and have been checking every day (without Time Traveling), and it's been almost a week. No pings from her. Is there another way of kicking her out, quickly?

The last villager to move in won't move out. Move somebody else out before trying to move out Puddles again.

While it's not impossible for the last villager to move in to leave, it is extremely unlikely. Good luck

Yeah i've seen sources that say it's very hard to move the 10th out :( most likely you will have to move someone else out. Luckily though Puddles isn't terrible..i can name a lovely green frog wearing a ton of pink lipstick that could have been there instead

I'm not sure about that, but I do know for a fact that the last to move in can be the first to move out. I've had a 10th villager move in and the very next day, after they're unpacked and everything, they ping to move out.

I would hate to move any of my other villagers out, I love them all. I'll try to be persistent with getting her to leave, but you're right about getting Puddles instead of other villagers. ;m;

I can verify the last villager in is NEVER one of the move requests. My 10th and final villager moved in on October 23, 2013- that's 2013 and has NEVER requested a move in almost 18 months of being there! I play daily, and have gotten hundreds of requests since she moved in, but she was not one of them. Trust me, I WISH she would move out, it's Pashmina, and I would have LOVED to have gotten rid of her after she requested the final PWP I needed to unlock them all back in June, 2014, and I'm NOT going to be that lucky unless I don't decline any of the other 9 I've been doing the last 16 months. If it was just "unlikely" then by the law of averages after almost a year and a half, she would have requested a move, and has NOT asked to move. Same with Genji in my Japanese town, who moved in back in October of 2014. Guess how many times he's requested a move- ZERO! That's two different towns, both at 10, both towns have had the 10th for MONTHS, both get played daily, and BOTH have NEVER had the 10th request a move.

It's not impossible for the latest villager that moved in to move out. It's just very unlikely. I remember getting Pecan very recently and about 4 days later, she already wanted to move. It's just random. However, to increase the chances of someone moving out, befriend them. My dreamies are always wanting to move because of my high friendship with them. The villagers I want to have move out like Samson, for example, never ask to move because I rarely talk to them, do them favors, etc.

I could be incorrect, but based on my experience, befriending them is the best way to get them to ping for a move out. And if they refuse to move out, just reset and talk to them again until they do.

But. I can also verify that the last villager in is SOMETIMES one of the move requests. I've had a cycle town. One day Kabuki is all unpacked, the next, he's leaving.
Even in one of my regular towns, that I was actually keeping up with and taking care of without time travelling or anything, one moves in, unpacks. I never even talked to them, and they want to leave the next day. The move requests are completely and totally random. It doesn't matter if you interact with them or not. It's all just randomized.
Don't let your personal experience and bad luck cloud the truth.
