I've made sure not to time travel in this world (no judgement to those who enjoy it!), but I hadn't played the game since around August 2025, or been on my Switch for a while. Played ACNH for the first time in a while today, and didn't realise Switch date had reset to something like 1st Jan 2025. Quit game but it had autosaved. So obviously changed clock and fast forwarded time... have I accidentally benefitted from this in any way, or just got a load of extra weeds? I'll make my peace with it regardless, as purely accidental and my world is perfect... but interested in any insights, please... thank you!

I don’t think there’s anything to gain from time travelling just as it is. People usually time travel to get things done quickly, to move villagers out, progress the early game faster, skip seasons, complete critterpedia etc so doing just one big one year leap won’t really do anything except give you a lot of weeds and make every villager ask where you’ve been.

I think the only thing you would have gained are weeds, cockroaches in your house, and maybe some mail! Potentially some extra bells depending on how much was in your ABD account, if any

Nothing really happens. You get a ton of weeds, your flowers might've gotten out of control, a ton of gyroids everywhere, your villagers will comment about being 8 months, 1 week, 2 days, and 11 minutes since you were last around ect. The only thing you will benefit from is the interest in your bank

But NH nerfed the interest you can accrue early in the game's life so you're not getting much at all. It's nothing to be upset over since the amount you get is so insignificant.

I know someone who returns to 31st Dec each time her battery dies, and she mostly just get weed and cockroaches.
