So, I walk in to see if Gaston is crafting a DIY tonight and I got distracted doing another thing, so my character in game just stood there for awhile. Finally I heard the "question mark" sound. Shortly thereafter, I heard the door sound and found I was outside, but his lights were still on and he was still inside. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I find it hysterical, but just wondering if this is something anyone else has experienced? Is this a normal mechanic? xD

Hmm, are you sure you didn't accidentally bump your control stick slightly to leave? Also possible if you happen to have stick drift on your joycon / joystick that might have also caused it. I've never had a villager kick me out, but I did have stick drift walk my character out of the house, confusing me for a few seconds on what happened before haha

I've never heard nor experience that before.

It sounds like your joycon drifted to where your character walked out of his house on it's own. Might want to check if it's stuttering by calibrating the controller.

Oh, lol.

Are you sure you didn't move towards the door area a bit, because I always feel like that platform area is touchy and you can easily get shoved out. I did somehow enter a villager's house right when they decided to close their blinds (I guess an indication they are sleeping or leaving the home) and stood in an empty house.

edit: to add on why I said the other thing, if you didn't bump the control stick, could be a small bug? idk

This happens all the time with me when I accidentally bump the joystick a little with my hand. A lot of the times it happens when I am distracted by something else.

Yup! My switch was sitting on the couch over away from me and the cats were both sleeping elsewhere at the time! Thanks for sharing that thought though, as I can see where that might happen.

Yup! See above reply to @BalloonFight xD

Please refer to my reply to @BalloonFight lol...Hmmm...It must be that Gaston's house is haunted and it said, "GET OUT!" lol xD Idk!

Whoops sorry I missed your comment! Please refer to my original reply to @BalloonFight, thanks though to you and everyone else for the help! <3

The question mark sound/emote happens when you enter a villager's house, then leave without interacting with them. They look confused like, "Wait, why did you come in here if you're not going to talk to me?" XD

Oh yeah I've left a villager's house a few times by accident and also because of drift. The villagers are way too polite to kick us out themselves. A few times I have gone AFK inside a villager's house and I let my switch fall asleep. When I would turn it back on, I'd notice the villager had left me in the house alone and exited their house. 😂

As others said, it sounds like joycon drift. Before I sent my left one in for repair, my character would turn and walk upstairs in her house without me controlling her, and sometimes walk across the island all by herself. It was kind of creepy to see it like she was possessed
