Oh yeah, absolutely. I had finally gotten an empty spot so I could do some villager-hunting on Mystery Tour Islands but I got freakin' Lionel moving in the next day because I did some island-hopping for Celeste and DIYs.
I know it was also the case in NL and it led to a very cute moment when one of my fav Let's Player encountered one of his villagers that had moved out to one of his friends' island, but considering how difficult it is to get those guys to move out in NH, I kinda wish it wasn't a thing at all.
