did animal crossing update so you cant spam emotions?

i just noticed this, anytime i click an emotion it exits the menu and does the emotion, i saw in a few YouTube videos of people playing animal crossing and they are spamming emotions and its pretty funny. why is this?

Press Y repeatedly while in the menu with all the reactions. That’s how you spam it.

nope, you can still do it! press y when you're in the big emotion menu

Pretty sure you can still do it when you spam Y in the menu with all of them!

I haven't noticed any differences in emoting so far, I think you should be able to still spam them! Like others have said, use Y
