Demolishing Original Bridge?

Recently I've read that in New Leaf, your original bridge is apparently not counted towards your 30 PWPs. However if you demolish and rebuild it, that next bridge will count towards that limit. Does anyone have proof of this? It sounds like something that could easily be false, but I don't want to demolish my first bridge and risk it being true.

I haven't been able to test this, but I've seen this said on both Animal Crossing wiki and Nookipedia, so that may point to it being true.

But I've also read somewhere that after the Welcome Amiibo update, that was changed so that the original bridge does count towards the limit. So I'm not sure at all :\ The only way to tell for sure is if someone with their original bridge is willing to build more PWPs until they reach the limit and then just count them.
