The newly-reelected Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has been shot while holding an event at a Safeway in Tucson, Arizona. The gunman shot her in the head first, then opened fire on those around her, shooting indiscriminately. The event was intended to give her constituents a chance to ask her questions in person.

I know....

To be fair, all that is known about the shooter is that he is a 21-year-old male. We don't even know for certain that the attack was politically motivated. Additionally, it seems that most modern-day assassins are mentally unstable, so I don't want to be too quick to condemn Palin et al. for this. I still *censored.3.0*ing loathe her and her ilk, though.

Problem is, the first people they'll turn to is the tea partiers. This'll create even more instability in our government/nation. It was already bad enough with the stunt the partiers pulled earlier.

Even if she's in surgery, it still seems very grim if she was shot in the head.

Yeah, I had posted this when the news sites started reporting her dead.

Surviving a headshot wound is impressive.

Other people at the scene were definitely killed, however.
