I went to visit an island and met someone at the front when I got there and the girl there had been waiting for someone else to arrive cause it was so hard to see where to walk. As this person had just flooded the island in trees :/

I really liked it when resetti would threaten to delete my whole town. That wasn’t cute at all, It was a bit scary. Even though I knew he wouldn’t do it...there’s still that 1% in the back of my mind thinking maybe he just might. I felt like a daredevil 😂
It was great.

I know! There was a rumor going on that after 50 resets he would do just that. I Would try to remember how many times before I had reset, because I did not want to get to that 50! I loved that he kept us stuck there for like 2-3 minutes.

-The designing options we get can be worked on and made better. I want to even say they NEED to be worked on. Can't choose sleeves? Wth?

-Having alot of waterfalls looks nice on pictures but experiencing it first hand, hearing it, the LAG, is not fun imo

-Having furniture EVERYWHERE can look good (to a degree) or it can look messy, cluttered and too busy.

-Cottagecore is over rated and over done. When you see so many cottagecore islands they all kinda blend together and nothing makes them unique anymore. I would say citycore is over done but to me it doesn't all blend together and loose its uniqueness.

-Functionality over aesthetic. An island lagging is not fun. I can deal with a little bit of lag, it's understandable cause I feel like the game isn't 'strong enough' to support a good amount of running water, flower fields and furniture being outside, which is really dumb, but when your island is literally STRUGGLING to load in furniture, like, it blinks into existence, then you need to tone it down. Unless you like you system over heating and risk crashing.

-Also idk why but I don't like the idea of a room in a building being made to look like the outside. In game NL and before I ignored it but with NH I don't understand it. I guess cause we can't have wallpaper outside but still.

Island hopping to find villagers is a repetitive and frustrating task relatively devoid of much fun after the novelty of doing it the first few times to fill plots passes.

I love the dream suite. Always have. I've seen quite a few islands so far, and the ones on you tube as well. I love the The cottage core theme, however they all look alike.

I also get stressed visiting islands with so many cliffs, waterfalls and secret pathways. They are pretty, but I do wish they would leave a pole and ladder. Most that I've visited do not.

I love the hyacinth lamps. I used to dislike a lot of things that I related to old people. The older I get, the more I seem to like them. My house in real life has lots of decor that your Grandparents might have. I have a saying. "If you like it, put a doily on it." Lol.

I'm not particularly fond of stalls. I love that you can customize them, but every time I put one out, I end up removing it. I only have two in my town. The honey stall, fruit stand and Bbq have all been taken down.

animal crossing pocket camp is the flagship animal crossing title and acnh was just a money grab to further fund ac: pc
When you look at the quality of PC items and the awesome NL items compared to NH.. I believe you might be right.

Sure feels (and looks) like it.

Also I don’t get why people act like Nookazon is a place from h3ll.

it’s actually super great, items are constantly updated and you can get exactly what you need within a few minutes. People (90% of the time) aren’t greedy either, I’d actually say some of the TBT prices on here are worse.

Out of all the things they could have added, I was super disappointed to see the dream suite return
I never used it in NL and I don't plan on ever using it now

Isabelle on the loading screen was cute the first time or two, but is now very annoying

(but all in all, I love the game and play it almost daily! these are just a few small things that annoy me lol)

Hot Takes:

I find a certain ideas people try to craft very synthetic and unappealing: Stuff like food hats, buildings made of simple panels and fencing, castles made of silos and organs, and waterfalls leaking out of nowhere. It's all just too fake and unbelievable in my mind, and only looks good at specific perspective for screenshots.

And speaking of screenshots, I feel like too many people design their islands to be more like 'photo booths': Lots of attractions that look good for taking screenshots to get internet fame, but their overall town structures are in shambles. I ask people to stop this nonsense, and actually think of the island as a unified whole when designing it.

I came to complain about PC vs NH, but I like your take. :)

I still log into Pocket Camp to torture myself and the new cookie they released today eclipses anything released by NH thus far.
(Carrie's apple cookie.) Can't wait for Halloween.

every aspect of this game just feels like one step forward and two steps back :/
you can terraform but the UI is clunky and there are odd limitations
there's 50 custom design slots... but they have to be shared between every save file
there are new options for pro designs but they took basics away (like sleeve length... WHY?)
you can make your own furniture and put it wherever you want but it's boring as hel
same for the buildings
villagers have new interactions with objects and each other, but not with the player (the player also doesn't get to have interactions, like with the barbecue or holding ice cream, etc)
etc etc ad nauseum....

also it's been 6 months and no nook's cranny upgrade????? ?

Might want to avoid dreaming my island, then. :) This older person has 2 yellow hyacinth lamps in her upstairs loft. :p

I'm definitely not old and I have two yellow ones outside my home! :)

Not everybody loves them I guess, that's fine though.

I completely agree. Nookazon was also the fastest way for me to complete my furniture catalog. I do see some overpriced offers on there but they're so easy to just avoid anyway. If we're talking about insane pricing, I would have to say the official acnh reddit discord chat takes the cake (with a few exceptions obviously).

I don't know if this qualifies as a hot take or not but I don't like the addition of some of the special fish tanks and pupils in the resident’s eyes. I used to love displaying sharks and goldfish in my houses and some of the eye designs that I thought were cute in previous games now either look too intense or in some cases outright deranged (to me anyways).

While I appreciate how other things in the game have become more realistic, if I can still take a 20 second plane trip to arrive on any one of infinite nearby undiscovered islands and return home with enough coconuts shoved down my pants to solve deforestation, then I should be able to keep a whale shark on my coffee table where I can gaze at it adoringly through my vacant, pupliless eyes

I've been watching a lot of New Horizons Let's Plays on YouTube recently and most of them are pretty bad. Most of them are boring villager hunts and I can tell that a lot of these newer Let's Players have a sort of "carpetbagger"attitude towards the game because they don't seem to know a lot about the series as a whole and probably figured that they can get more views by using a popular game franchise. There are some good ones, though.I like Izzie IRL,Billie Jane and The Organized Gamer.

Yeah. Reminds me of those simple panels that are used to create the effect of giant castles or skyscrapers, but if you actually move a little bit it all comes undone. It's totally just for social media points.

Seriously why is this taking so long and why did it have to be locked behind a update? This just smells of so far behind/delayed. If it wasn't for the whole covid situation this wouldn't have flied so easily. Covid saved this barebone game from being outed much earlier for what it was. A game that was pushed out before its time.
