I found some from island hopping and some I got from buying / trading villagers on this forum.

my current residents aren't final dreamies, but I do really like the ones currently living on my island!

1. Ruby: found her on my second -ever- mystery island! she wasn't a dreamie but I love her now
2. Erik: my first random lazy move in, he's so cute and fits the lazy personality so well!
3. Tybalt: another random move in, he's one of the cutest jocks ahhh
4. Maple: my first random normal move in, still not sure if I'll keep her forever but she's definitely very cute!
5. Benjamin: amiibo, I love him a lot but I'll probably move him out at some point
6. Skye: amiibo, same as Benjamin, she's great but I think I would like to switch it up
7. Cookie: an actual dreamie: amiibo!
8. Diana: an actual dreamie: found her after using 9 NMT! I was so happy and surprised
9. Agnes: island hopping! but she's moving out once I have her picture ^-^
10. Raymond: random campsite visit! he's not a dreamie but I do really like him

honorable mention: Chief: random campsite visit, but I liked him so much that I have his amiibo now.
I had to move him out for Raymond, and Chief will be back once Agnes decides to give me her framed picture c:

The RNG in this game is really weird because I passed on Kiki so many times while island hopping for a snooty villager. I swear this game has a weird patented desire sensor. Lol.

majority of my villagers are amiibo cards with the exception of teddy who i found on a mystery island while trying to hunt for raymond. got raymond himself from a good friend's campsite. the only villager i ended up adopting from another player online was dom.

I just got Sherb, who has just recently become a dreamie of mine from island hopping. Now that I’ve met him, I think in the past I may have passed him up a few times when I was looking for Raymond or my other dreamies. I can’t believe I passed him up before; he is so cute!

Marshal, Diana, Fauna, Stitches, Julian, and June are all from amiibo cards. Audie was won from a random giveaway. Sherb was adopted for 20 NMT and 2 million IGB. Judy was purchased for 200 NMT by a friend so I could adopt her. Raymond wasn't initially a dreamie but he showed up in my campsite and I just couldn't say no. I could never let any of my sweeties leave as I absolutely adore them. <3

I s2g I need some inspiration after hunting for Kiki since freaking April so share ur stories :)

So I have a lot of my dreamies and I’ve only been playing since July 9th! (Marina, Chrissy, Beau, Merengue, and Stitches to name a few. Still hunting for Tia after Huck the A-hole leaves.) and I’ve done these things
1. Basically flirt with Orville before going to an island, idk if it works but I’ve done it every time and either guy money rick island or my dreamies. When you get to the airport do the joy and delight react until Orville becomes bashful and then head out on your NMT flight! (I heard it also helps to wear DAL merch?) another thing I heard floating around is that it also depends on when your birthday is! (Which would make sense for me because this is my birth month) and that if your dreamie hunting around your birthday (or during the month) you’ll find more desirable characters! Idk if any of this works but like I said I’ve only been playing for a short time and have so many of my dreamies without buying them or using Amiibos!

Dobie and Ursala both came from Amiibo cards (and I didn't even know they existed until I got their Amiibo cards and realized they were dreamies 😂)

And I bought Marina from the New Neighbor Network here! Spend 400k IGB and it was TOTALLY worth it. I love dressing her up ☺ I'm hoping to find a spare Mermaid Tiara to give her! I just gave her a pink Fairy Dress and she's so precious in it 😍

I am still trying to find my dream villagers, in the sense that I don’t quite know who they will be yet. But though I bought amiibo cards for two that I think are going to be lasting faves (Agnes and Tabby) I haven’t wanted to scan them in. It seems like it takes all the fun out of it to take away the chance. I think part of that is that I still need to experience more villagers, as someone new to the ac universe. But I’m enjoying the journey at least. I do like having the amiibo cards for when/if I get tired of exploring.

Those all are nice sounding ideas, but I think they have all been debunked. For starters, the game doesn’t know who you want to find and none of the villagers are rare vs common, except that the ones with more members of the species there are slightly decreased chances of finding a specific member of that species. Still, if the ritual makes you feel lucky, no harm in doing it. It seems like the perversity of luck that I find villagers like Vivian, dobie, Ankha, and Audie (three times on mystery islands so far), usually within my first 5 islands.

That’s exactly how I feel and you’re right; I do feel like the amiibo cards take away that experience good and bad. That’s a good plan you have and I wished I had looked at it that way sooner and not gotten impatient with some villagers I didn’t want but wouldn’t leave.

I hope you find more you like along the way and continue enjoying your journey; maybe you’ll meet Agnes and Tabby without needing their card :).

Pretty much amiibo cards and some rares from the campsite and mystery islands.

all of my dreamies that i currently have either came from the campsite or from island hopping (the majority being from island hopping aha) - i promised myself that i wouldn’t buy or trade for any of my dreamies as i wanted to obtain them all by myself and with only 4 more dreamies to go, i think i’m doing pretty well ^_^

Pietro- I found island hopping after around 20ish tickets.
Dom- I found island hopping again but was after less tickets perhaps around 10 or so.
Kabuki- Amiibo
O’Hare- Amiibo
Raymond- Gifted to me out of the blue by a rather awesome bell tree forumer!!

I am still after Erik and Punchy I have them on my second island with hopes of bringing them over but I’m still wedded to the idea of finding my own. Both were from the new neighbor network.

So I bought most of them on nookazon or from discord. I only have one dreamie I got from island hopping, and 1 dreamie I got from an amiibo. Tho I did just buy amiibos for a few more villagers.

Since I have really only like 6 or 7 dreamies, I’m using the rest of my plots for villagers I really like, but not permanent and rotate them out occasionally.

Friend got me the harder get ones like Raymond and Judy.. Rest I island hoped and bought myself.
