I was thinking about my old New Leaf town today and noticed a lot of people here seem to have deleted towns in their past. How about we talk about them here?

My first town Aniville was created on release day in 2013. Its layout was alright, though could have been a lot better. It had a left facing coast. The river flowed from the very top right, went almost all the way down, then went back up to drain in the middle of the left side of my town. My house was located right in the bottom middle part, and was an astro themed castle. The plaza was in the bottom right. Retail was in the top right just below the river. The Town Hall was located in the top left, close to the Train Station. The town's theme was somewhat modern, though was mostly just a collection of whatever I felt like building at the time. It was not very cohesive but I still liked it.

I had that town for years, during which many villagers came and left. Some of my favorites included Flip (who stayed with me the entire time), Pinky, Kitty, Tucker, Walker, Vesta, Jay, Lolly, Pashmina, and Aurora.

Eventually I grew tired of playing Animal Crossing. I left my town alone for about a year. When I came back, I couldn't seem to enjoy myself anymore. The town seemed far too sloppily put together, which began to bother me more and more. I could try to fix it but that would be so much effort. Most of my favorite villagers were gone anyway. Once Lolly moved away, I lost all remaining interest. I thought about it for a while and came to the decision to reset. It felt horrible at the time, deleting all those years of progress, but I do not regret it. I now have a new town with a perfect layout, which will be planned much better than this one.

You don't want to know how many towns (30+ days) of playing I just deleted. Basically about 9 towns. They were a bit old so I forgot most of them. My town, I want to say, is going to finally be my permanent town.

I've never deleted a town on New Leaf, but I did lose my first town a little over a year after I created it. I was really upset about that, and I still kinda am. I had a lot of cool stuff going on in that old town.

While I have (and am, in fact, currently in the process of) deleted a few towns, I... don't quite count them as gone because they're being reborn & reworked, keeping the same theme and same endgame of villagers.

But there is one that is gone... kinda.

⋆ was my first town - yes, ⋆, not Star or anything like that xD I... am not good at names. But I had it for... about a year or two? I honestly don't recall, but it was a lot of fun! A horrible layout though, and I kept getting frustrated, especially when the inevitable breaks happened and favorite villagers moved away Dx Funny thing though, if you search for 'Paine' as a mayor/character name in the Dream Suite, its dream version is still there. Somehow. I visited it some weeks ago, and it was a heck of a nostalgia trip checking it out again, and visiting the old villagers ^^ Had quite a few come in and out, but I have a very soft spot for my very first move in, and... probably all time favorite villager, Zucker. Looking really forward to the day I can bring him into one of my new towns though - honestly, I don't feel bad about the resets xD If it feels more like a chore than a fun escape/game, then it's not a town worth keeping imo, so go for what makes it fun again.

i accidently deleted one of my towns. i had to restart with different villagers. i had Coco in that town. now i dont have Coco and i dont own her amiibo card

I created my town of Westeros in 2016 and deleted it in April 2018, after leaving the forum, as I lost the will to play the game.
I even sold my 3DS at a local online place, just so I wouldn't be tempted to make another town.

I named it Westeros, based on Game of Thrones (I hate that show now).

I had four characters all named after characters from the show.

The characters houses ranged from a replica of Castle Black, with it's own prison, using the bars and a rice bed with a drip pail, and even a pile of bones, to one of the many taverns seen throughout the series.

I dressed the mannequins in helmets, boots and armor, and had them guarding the prison and standing guard in my main players house which was Castle Black.

A couple of the houses sold supplies as well as food and livestock.

I had a room that looked like a pig pen, with a dirt floor carpet, eight Poogie pigs, bamboo fencing, and different types of mushrooms on the blank tiles.

There was a similar room but with wheat fences that formed a chicken enclosure. I had eight cuckoo chickens in there.

Each room had fitting K.K. music playing from cicado stereos which blended in.

It had lush bush lined paths with natural dirt paths and various PWP's like fountains, log benches, torches, stonehenge, a flower arch and many more.

Stonehenge was surrounded by sweet olive and blue hydrangea bushes, dead trees, and all types of black flowers and a bush path that led to it. It was the dark part of town near Teddy's brick house.

I had the beautiful statue fountain as the center of a bush maze.

There was a small part at the top right of my town next to the river that had a rock, but I managed to fit a well PWP there, and line the back with perfect peach trees, and around the river were pink lillies, orange roses, pink cosmos, hydrangeas and sweet olive bushes.

There were dead trees in certain areas and the flowers and colors I used were pink lillies, pink cosmos, pink roses, black lillies, black cosmos, black roses, orange cosmos, orange lillies, orange roses, purple tulips, orange tulips, black tulips, purple pansies, jacob's ladders, blue violets, blue and purple roses. I had no yellow or red flowers.

Paths had various mushrooms, lucky clovers and special patterned stumps.
I utilized almost every tile in my town.

There were bush mazes, mushrooms paths that lead to a clearing with a water pump, log benches, special stump patterned chairs, around a fire pit next to the Roost.

There was so much more that I can't think of at the moment.

It really took over a year to create, and less than a minute to delete it.

The villagers I had were many, but the ones I had at the end, were:

Lobo (it was Wolfgang for most of the time as he's my favorite villager, but I thought if I replaced him it would make it easier for me to delete the town as he would no longer be there. It wasn't easier.)
Vic
Deirdre
Fauna
Felyne
Vivian
Epona
Norma
Teddy
Shep

I miss the town and I miss my villagers.

R.I.P, Westeros.

Thank you for making this thread. I needed to pay my respects to the town that gave me so much enjoyment.

ive restarted a lot on wild world and lets go to the city but ive still got my original new leaf town. I have considered restarting but i love all my villagers too much, particularly my boy wolfgang, so instead im just working to remake rooms and improve the overall town.

I have two games and I've restarted both of them a few times before, although I don't remember the order. My very first town that I made when I first got the game in 2013 was called Kenka. I named it after an izakaya in my neighbourhood. My game was delivered the night I got back from drinking with friends at that bar, so I decided to name my town after it because I didn't know what else to name it and I was too excited to start! I think I had it for about 4 years until I reset it. I don't remember the exact villagers at the time of my reset, but I do remember a lot of villagers who lived there, since that town was really precious to me! My favourites over the years were: Dizzy, Stinky, Maple, Marshal, Goose, Mac, Soleil, Elise, Benjamin, Zell, Fauna, Fang, Genji, and Shari. I remember being distraught when Stinky asked to move out suddenly after a TT mistake I made during the fishing tourney. I was so sad that no one wanted to adopt him on the forums lol I think he was one of the first villagers I attempted to giveaway ;_; I also remember Maple was the villager that moved out when I got back from my hiatus and ultimately convinced me to restart with the new update. I wasn't too sad when I restarted it because I was already working on my second town, Tinytree. I consider that my main town now. I also was able to bring back Dizzy and Stinky to that town, so it feels a lot like my original <3

When I sold my Kenka town and I made two towns after, Kiri and Suspiria (don't remember the order). Kiri was my 1-year challenge town which I attempted with some members on this forum (and most of us failed miserably heh). Suspiria was a horror themed town based on the movie Suspiria. I eventually got bored of those and took another hiatus. I played them for enough hours to sell them to Nook each time. Then I restarted once again and stuck with my final town, Borei! It has horror aspects that I wanted Suspiria to have while not committing to a full blown horror town, so I really like that about it! While Kiri/Suspiria/Borei had the spirit and bankroll of Kenka, I consider Tinytree to be more similar to my original.

My favorite town I ever worked on was named Cyprus. It was a zen nature eccentric town with white flowers. It was also the town I worked on the longest, over a year worth of dedication. I got really bored of working on it and let my son take over playing it, which obviously ruined all my hard work. Chopped up trees, dead perfects, grass deterioration, random colored flowers and weeds. My favorite villagers all moved out too by the time I got back to it. During that time, I got a 2nd copy and was working on that.
So yeah, it became neglected and by the time I was ready to go back to finishing up Cyprus, it was already too damaged and I felt at that point, I might as well started it over. So I recreated my town. I haven't been happy with any of the towns I've created after losing Cyprus. I always regret having done that, and every now and then will visit it's dream address I uploaded before it became a dump. I probably will regret it forever lol.

My first town was made May 2018, I had no idea what I was doing but I named it Midna after my cat. The villagers started to pile in around me but its nice to go see my very plain dream town every now and then. I'm still not sure if I like the map or not but I had perfect oranges, so that's something. I do remember I had a little fountain in from of my house and a bench at the top but I don't know if I can say that I did that much in it. It's still my first town though.

I never deleted a town, but I did sell two of my game cartridges, which probably left my two towns to be deleted. The first town I had was just really nice, I made a random name for it and I remember a lot of my villagers I had, the second one I had I didn?t pay too much attention to, but I still liked it.

A few years ago,I had the idea of making a town that was populated by five hippos and five chickens.I called it Chippo and I got as far as getting all the villagers moved in but I couldn't get inspired enough to do anything else with the town.I remember that a lot of the villagers names started with the letter "B":Biff,Bertha,Benedict,Bubbles,Broffina,Becky and Begbert(just kiddin').I wound up moving a lot of the villagers to my other towns and adopted out the rest.If I ever try this again I'll go with squirrels and cats and call the town Squat.

I miss my very first town Redford, which I created right on that day when I got the game. Back then, I had no idea about the fact that you could reset to get other maps suggests by Rover, so I just picked a map I liked the most out of the first 4 ones. This was probably the only town that actually survived longer than all the other towns which came afterwards. The only reason why I deleted it was because I found out about the possibilities New Leaf has which I didn't know when I start playing the game. And so I reset the town in hope to get a much better looking one. I kinda regretted this a lot to be honest.

Besides this town, there was also another town I had later which I really like, however lost unfortunately because the game got a stupid damage.

If I ever try this again I'll go with squirrels and cats and call the town Squat.
Squat is actually a really cool name for such a town idea!

I've had about 4 towns in NL before.

My first town was named Lilac. Do I regret deleting it?

Well, no.

For starters, I had a weird face (no Offence to whoever likes it) X

Thats the reason I deleted it actually.

All my secondary characters where named after stuffies, LilBunny, Hygrenga (spelt like that) and Tiggy.

The only thing I regret about deleting it was that I didn't save my stuff.

My second town of Tiger was much better, and very long lived.

I had a friend there, whom I would visit from time to time.

I think she was called Emma from RedEye.

I met her on the island

She deleted her SD card tho, and I haven't seen her since.

It only really stuck around because my username at the time was "Bunny From Tiger" Once I got a username change (also because Chrissy and Francine moved away, and Vivian wouldn't go away) I restarted it.

My 3rd town was Sandclan (it's still in my sig) if you can't tell, it was Warrior cats themed.

I recently restarted it though because 1) I didn't want to do a WC themed town anymore 2) it was in too bad of shape 3) all my villagers moved away.

My current town is called Divinia tho, and I think this one will actually stick around.

I've technically deleted 4 towns; New Town, Kaede, a different version of Treehut (cause I have a town called Treehut rn) and Secret. I'm putting these in spoilers since I type alot.

New Town was my first ever NL town, I got it release day in 2013 for NA. I played in that town for, 6 years? before ultimately selling it to Nook. After 6 years of gameplay, I had nearly everything done except my town. No matter how hard I tried, I could never make it pretty like what I would see in dream towns. Once I heard about selling the town and how you could keep your catalogue I looked into it alot. It wasn't until I got my second Nintendo system and my second town Moriyo Village that I sold my town. Moriyo could hold all my non re-orderable items along with dreamies (I transferred my bells too), so I finally had peace of mind that I will get those items and villagers again. I don't regret it, and now Townie is on the card (Secret was before Townie but I explain that later) I named my mayor Liyetta as homage to first ever AC town, DS Town in WW, since I deleted that town over and over again. I made my mayor look like Mayor Midge from New Town, as if Mayor Midge was reincarnated.

Kaede was never meant to be a permanent town. I made it as a cycling town and a town to grow foreign fruit in to make a profit. Which, while timely, I did. However I soon found out cycling villagers is alot more work then I intended. So I deleted Kaede without waiting to sell the town, as I put no sediment to it. I'm pretty sure this is the game card Treehut occupies now.

There was originally a different Treehut. I made the town, saved, made my house and all that jazz. It was then I started to majorly plot the houses that I realized I couldn't get the house to fit the way I wanted. There were too many rocks and not enough space to plot animals houses, more buildings and future residents houses. So I deleted that version and after map cycling for maybe an hour, I got my current version of Treehut today.

Secret was supposed to be a permanent town. I made my house, successfully plotted all the animals houses and other buildings. I was enjoying Secret until I wanted to change the theme, since I grew bored with the horror theme. I also set it in autumn, when I already had a permanent autumn town, Moriyo Village. However I planned Secret as a horror town, so I plotted everythin out as such. This was the town that New Town was originally on, so I had to wait until I paid off my house and played a certain amount of hours to sell the town, cause there was NO WAY I was gonna loose that catalogue. Now Townie resides on this card.

I have 5 game cards now, 3 of which had some sort of past town on them (Vac?o technically also had a past town on it as it is a used copy, but I only made one town on that card). Anyway I enjoy reminiscing about all my past towns, they all helped me make my towns that I have today.

Meh. I've restated countless times. I always like a fresh start and new villagers. I can't stick with one village for longer than maybe a few weeks. It gets stale.

Vista: I used to have 4 other towns named 'Vista', all deleted because I didn't like how they were going. The maps kinda bother me and I wanted to do better, the current one is way better than those four.

Chocolat: I had restarted it like twice, one for not liking the map and the other was because something was wrong with the game card and I had to get a new one.

Moonview: Only restarted it once, didn't do much on that older layout.

Flora: Only once, wanted my house in a better spot.
