Data transferrer to a new switch help?

Hello I am getting my own switch and I wanted to know if its possible to move my nintendo online account and game data to a new switch but still leaving my husbands account and game data on the old switch. I am worried I will mess it up is this possible to do or no?

I'm pretty sure as long as you log in to your new switch with your current nintendo account it'll transfer your information over, atleast that's how it worked for me

Once I have logged in on the new switch and uploaded my data from there I can go back and delete my stuff from the old one ?

Yup and basically, there should be good guides since they simplified most steps. I think AC:NH might still be a bit tricky to get over if you play that but most should be carried over as for save data. Remember if you got any DLC eg. Sword/Shield expansion passes you need to re-download those from the eShop as with any digital games.
