Well, in anticipation of Dark Souls 3, I've bought Dark Souls. I've installed DSfix, I briefly removed my NVIDIA driver stuff to get DSfix to run, nothing works. I've disabled Anti-aliasing and motion blur, unlocked FPS in the ini files of DSfix, and there's nothing I can do. What did you do to get this to work, framerate or, hell, the game at all?

I may as well point out, the framerate is so bad I get booted offline.

Dark Souls 1 is known to have very horrific optimization. Could I ask you what your specs are? It's possible that you might not be able to run the game properly.

I know, it's a shame it's not backwards-compatible...

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4170 CPU @ 3.70GHz
RAM: 8GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64 Processor
Drive: TOSHIBA DTO1ACA200
Graphics Card/Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 (Disabled: Microsoft Basic Display Adapter)

I'm fairly certain your graphics card isn't enough to run it. You can probably run DS2, but DS1 is... ironically... far more intensive because of how bad the port is.

I say this because I followed the same steps you did and it works fine on my computer - but before I upgraded to a GTX 760 it gave me the same fuss.

Btw, if I'm wrong and you manage to get it working, I wouldn't mind doing some coop.

Well, that's a shame. Gonna stack Dark Souls 2 PvP, then. I'll have a go at messing with NVIDIA, I guess, though. Thank you!

Yeah unfortunately Dark Souls is a pretty awful port, haha. I bought it during last summer's Steam sale but got a refund after a day because of the awful framerate and keyboard and mouse controls are so uncomfortable with this game.

I got it to work! Huzzah! Got steady framerate by disabling Vertial Synch in the graphics card, unlocking FPS and setting it back to 30. Time to make a Darkmoon Falchion scrub build again.
