You need another 3ds if you want to transfer anything between your towns.

I don't need to really transfer anything from town to town. I'm only missing one dreamie which is Bam.

If you don't need to transfer anything between towns you can play them both on the same 3ds

dont buy another 3ds, there are many users here who can help you transfer stuff if you're into that. and if you really are sure you can keep up with cycling, and not waste $30~ dollars on a game you already have in a span of a month, i suggest you to buy a used copy.

Another way to save money is to turn games you don't use into gamestop for credit. I did that to buy my 2nd new leaf copy that i got today. I wanted to buy a used game, but they did'nt have any. i saved ten dollars for giving them four old Ds games.
