Cycling through 16 villagers...

Hello!

Has anybody ever tried this?

My dreamie wants to move out, and I didn't manage to keep him stay. Can my friend pick him up and let him move into her town? Can I then cycle through 16 villagers and get him back from my friend?

I do know it's definitely possible to cycle through villagers to get old ones back.
But when I used this method in the past, I never tried to pick up my dreamies in my friend's town... they were, so to speak, "new" ones from OTHER towns whom I'd never spoken to. I hope you get what I'm saying. xD

You can! Even better news for you: I've read that the villager your friend will be holding will actually remember you when you pick him back up. It'll say something along the lines of "Sure, I'll move to your town! It'll be great to live there again after so much time!". What I unfortunately don't know about is if the friendship level will reset or not.

Are you sure? That would be great news! I hope it really works as you say, because I'd be so happy if I could just pick him up again!

Well, I haven't seen it myself, but I saw a screenshot of it, which was enough proof for me. Unfortunately, I can't find it, but I promise I saw it. Good luck with your cycling!

I can confirm that they remember you. Keaton moved from my town to my best friend's town and he remembered me and the nickname he gave me. I don't know about friendship levels however.

Were you able to pick him up though?
I know villagers remember you, but I wanna make sure I can get him back after I'm done cycling through 16 villagers!

Ooh I'm not sure about that, I didn't ask him to move back in. Sorry ><

The friendship level definitely resets. The game erases past villagers after so long and so once he actually moved into your town he would be like a new villager.

I let filbert move into my friends town a few months ago and I cycled many villagers out through that time and unfortunately he was in boxes when my friend opened up his game so i told him I'll adopt filbert and now he's back in my town!
