hey so i've been trying to cycle / ping a villager out of my town for about 7 days straight now.
i've been following that "fool proof method to getting a villager out" and it's been pretty good- minus the fact that no matter how many times i tt, or how many days i do this for hours on end the ONE villager i need out wont ping / no rumors about him wanting to leave. i've started the ignore method and he's started to mail me letters titling them "the lonely kidd"

i've had him for a while, he moved in about.. what 3 or so villagers ago so he's not incredibly new. he should be able to cycle out.. but i just don't know what to do anymore. the method i've been using is the tt a day forward, talk to the safety net villager 10-15 time to see about rumors, and if theres nothing rinse and repeat. are there any SAFE ping methods that might work easier? so far i've gotten maybe 4 or 5 other villagers to ping about moving, but not one of them has been the one guy i need to ping.

any advice will help and i really hope someone knows a good method for this : (

I read one method where it suggested making sure you do all the favors your other villagers ask you to do and ignore any favors the villager you want to move asks from you. Maybe you could try that?

so i should just spent the next few days doing lots of tasks but ignoring all of kidd's requests?
i haven't heard of this yet, so i maybe i can try it out and see if it produces some results.

Yeah, though it may end up with you having to catch fish and bugs and such. I read it here so I'm not 100% sure it'll work but it may help.

i think it's worth the try, MINUS that guides 7 day jump. thats sketchy and knowing my luck of losing now one but TWO dreamies bc of tt incidents, i'd rather not risk it when ive got at 9/10 dreamies. i'm definitely gonna try the tasks though :) thank you so much

It's been a really loooong time since I used this but here's the method that works pretty well (maybe you wanna wait til others to confirm that it works xD)

1. When someone pings you about moving and you don't want them to move, tell them to stay.
2. Save and quit immediately.
3. TT 6 days ahead in one go and load up the game, save and quit immediately again.
4. TT 6 days back in one go and load the game
5. Someone will be planning to move again so walk around the town for villager pings and find out who's moving. Don't TT until you find out which villager, so you don't lose anyone.

Repeat it if it's not the villager you wanted to cycle out.

Hope this helps c:

Ignoring him won't really do anything, some people swear by that while others swear by talking to villagers until they get annoyed. I'm pretty sure it's random and as long as it's not your 10th villager, any of them are equally likely to ping.

The method I use for moving villagers out is safe and might make it quicker. The next time you deny a request to move, save the game and quit. Go to the 3DS settings and set the date to a Monday starting a week that has no events coming up (I've heard this before, though I've also done this without this step, but it might make it easier to avoid events). Load the game and immediately save and quit.

Then, go to your 3DS settings again and change the date again to one year later. Start the game as a new character, go through the train stuff, and when you get your map check to see what the missing villager is, then quit without saving.

Set the 3DS back by one year again. Load as your mayor and go find the villager who was missing in the future. Talk to them a few times to see if they mention moving and if they don't, save, quit, and load again. Keep doing that until that villager pings you or otherwise asks you to move.

If you want to keep that villager, deny their request to move, then save and quit. Set the 3DS forward by one year again and this time load as your mayor. Save, quit, and set the 3DS forward by another year. Start the game as a new character, check who's missing, then go one year back as your mayor.

When a villager you want to move out pings you, say yes and then save and quit. Pay attention to the date this villager tells you. You can now safely set the 3DS date back to normal again. Just keep in mind that going back any amount of time counts as one day forward. If that villager was moving in 5 days, they'll now move in 4.

It's a safe method as long as you pay attention to start with the right characters on the right steps. The only downside is that you get bed hair and some weeds and that it's best to have the Beautiful Town ordinance if you try it.

If it fails so hard and all you've got is your dreameis moving out, try becoming friends with him. He'll move out then, since he's not doing it while your ignoring him. thats how i got zell out.

I have another method for finding the missing villager that takes less tting. If you have nine or ten it does matter how many days ahead and back you go to get a ping too many and with ten you may lose. But with a stubborn every time you go let's say for safety three to max four days forward as back counts a day...make sure you talk to the villager you want out and only that villager until they think if they want something do it or have shell pockets like diving trick. Now when you go back same day as when someone last asked to leave walk around get a ping..or if not you can easily instead of rumor seeking just set up an alt go seven days ahead see if anyone is gone and who, if so that is your pinger if it's not who you want tell them stay and try again, if it is lucky you, if no one is gone no one is thinking of moving so go back to 5:55 am save and quit go ahead again same time and find who is.

Now as far as using the seven day jump to find a leaver and who, never ever save just exit and go back to old date and time with mayor and proceed with the new knowledge.

I had this issue with Lucy and am having it with Gala...just talk to them as much as possible every time you are on mayor to retain high friendship as they typically ask to leave faster than low and tting for long times can wipe your friendship level down some..or all.Good luck to you, still working on Gala.

Sometimes ignoring a villager will make it harder for them to ping you. Maybe treat them like your other villagers and TT?

I feel your pain. I really hated boxing villagers, especially the CERTAIN ones you want out. If its a cycling town I would suggest using this guide. http://delia-song.tumblr.com/post/95260935527/guide-to-fast-cycling-with-powersavesI personally use it constantly for my cycling on the annimalcrossingcommunity forums. Just joined here and learning how to use the site! getting some of those TBT's haha.

Also when I was cycling I was 5 days before the box date and got a ping from a villager saying they were going to move, I stopped them and it ruined my cycle leaving me to find another cycle date to go off of.

If you do not have enough villagers none will ask to move. I think there is a 8 day waiting period for someone to leave sometimes, or more. Sadly I do not know how long it is but could be up to two weeks of time travelng. Make sure you see all your villagers outside because one may be already thinking of moving. Or just talk to one or two of them a bunch until they mention someone thinking of moving in the town.

I'd also like to add this link for http://bamdom.tumblr.com/post/57682343411/alternatively-titled-how-to-get-your-dream you, its supposed to be a fool proof guide for a non cycling town. I have heard some great reviews on it.

I am very curious as to what guide you are already going off of.

i've been using that second guide you sent. the fool proof one. and i can't get kidd to ping for the life of me.
haha, it's gotten so bad that i'm tempted to let one of my dreamies go ( one that i don't love as much as the others which is alsost impossible) just to see if that will break the cycle of kidd not wanting to leave.

he has pinged me before in the past, but i loved him a lot back then and i didn't think i'd wanna let him go. >< but now i want him OUT OuT OUT

I can safely say the tenth won't go so I use them as my safety net, if target is a tenth you need someone new in last. I am currently in the same situation with Gala and someone sent me back here. Easiest would be to tt four days one back to date I was on originally but thurs has an event so am going to keep doing this weird three ahead one back before day was on starts officially then ahead again as I hate skipping days and don't even want to touch an event or after one since I lost Skye I moved her for time being but has caused a mess. Good luck with Kidd, wish me luck on Gala I'm just gonna non stop it or move until mon and see if I can safely skip past harvest day..this is a fall town still and still have it work.
