Alright so I tried the TT method of
TT 1 year and 5 days back
TT 1 year forward
TT 7 days foward and then you should have one in boxes and one new.

But when I did it, it didn't work? So regular cyclers, what is your method you use for cycling?

The thread linked above has several speed cycling methods.I use one I saw posted here a couple of years ago(can't find the thread). It's not exactly speed cycling but it gives you the opportunity to keep the moving villager rather than that villager going directly to boxes:

1.Wait for a day that a villager pings to move then ask them to stay.
2.Time travel five days ahead.
3.Time travel five days back(it only counts as one day)to the day you you started.A villager should ping to move.Sometimes they won't so you might have to TT a day or two forwards or backwards(either way will do).The main disadvantages to this method are that it's a lot slower than speed cycling and it's not an exact science...villagers don't always ping when you go back to the day you started. The main advantages are that it's very hard to lose villagers that you want to keep and you still retrain the option of keeping your moving villager from leaving if you so decide.

Edit:One more thing:Some people aren't aware of this but if you're using a brand new town for cycling make sure you've completed the tutorial dialogue with your starting villagers.None of them will ping to move until this is done.
