I recently got a 2nd game to use as a cycling town. Luckily for me, one of the first five is Astrid, someone I've been looking for for a while. I've been trying to TT her out and into my other town...

..I am close to pulling my hair out. I TT-ed all night yesterday, from like 9PM to 6AM, and for a couple hours today. She just won't budge. Croque has asked 5 times now, Filbert a few times, and Hazel once or twice too (who I do plan on actually letting move out and selling her eventually)

Does anyone else hate stubborn villagers who don't want to move? Please tell me someone else understands my pain

Even when you have a cycling town it can take a LOT of villagers to move out but the one you want to move so they can go to a nice happy town - stays and stays. Rrrg!

Exactly! I'm just trying to give her a nice home. :3 I'm trying to get her out first before cycling other villagers and selling them on here. So shes preventing that from happening too >.> silly crazy looking kangaroo. She's lucky I like her so much

Hazel asked yet again and I was finally going to let her go, just out of frustration, and sell or give her away on here. But then she changed her mind >.> I've about had it

Bob will NOT move. Now I hate him. I'm currently trying to befriend him so he moves. But, I'm thinking of a digital copy of the game so I can start a cycling town... I have a feeling cycling is a lot of trouble

Ah that's because you aren't cycling right.
don't go day by day and look for who moves.
force cycle till someone is in boxes, then go 1 month, then 1 month, then 5 days.
This process will force a move each 3 loads.
Eventually the one you want to move will.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I've been doing the every 6 days method, because I heard thats when someone pings to move. But I've gotten so impatient that I've been doing it day by day, and only running into Astrid to see if she pings, ignoring everyone else. Because I'm frankly getting lazy of running into them all and seeing which one it is. I'll give that a try though

No problem
you'll be cycling villagers out so freakin' fast this way.
Just start forcing through TTing a few days at a time over and over till Isabelle tells you someone is moving on the title screen.
Then follow the 1 mo - 1 mo - 5 day pattern, and the moveouts will not end.
Chances are good that some will enter and leave before the one you want to move does tho, but just keep at it and eventually they'll give up.

Okay I'll try it! I'm just paranoid of screwing something up and losing the one I want. I've done that before and had TT-ing accidents

Take a look at this guide, Mitzi. Look at the "Other methods" listed~ There are methods you can use that are slightly slower, but help you keep dreamies~

I can also suggest when you do the final jump (The 5 day jump for boxes) you can start as a new villager and scout your boxed guy. If you want him to move, load your mayor and let him go. But if you don't want him boxed, you can TT back 1 day, talk to your animals to get on speaking terms, then save and quit in order to get that villager to ping (That's a theory, but it may work as well~ Since my town's finished, I can't test it ;w; )

Do what you feel comfy with. We all have that stubborn villager but make sure you cycle in a way which you're confident.

If you want my method~

-Choose a starting date (i.e January 5th). That is the date you always TT back to. It'll help you keep your head straight.
-From your start date, TT 1 day at a time until you get a mover. There are 2 reliable ways to find this mover:
a. Talk to your animals for rumors. If at least 2 animals give you a "generic villager rumor" you can safely assume a mover doesn't exist. A great guide to rumors exists here. You want at least 2 rumors because your mover will sometimes give you a rumor, and you'll be unaware he/she is moving~
b. Just go for the ping. You can run in front of all animals first and if you lack the ping, get the rumors next~
-If you want this animal to move, let him. If you want him to stay, make him.
-If you want the animal to move, TT to their move-out date, load up, say goodbye if you wish, then Save and Quit out. TT back to your starting date, load, Save and quit.
-If you want the animal to stay, simply TT back to your start date, load the game, then Save and Quit out.

The reason you return to the start date is to that the game processes the move/move denial. This allows you to get a new mover, actually, as soon as the day you TT back, which I originally didn't realize could happen~ So this is why:

-After you Save and Quit out of your starting date, TT FOUR DAYS into the future. Check for rumors and Pings.
-More often than not, you'll have a mover on this day. If you don't, TT one day at a time. You often won't need to go further than a few days unless you're unlucky, which I have been, but usually by Day 4 it's the first day someone is able consider the move~

It's a very THOROUGH method, and it takes some time to perfect, but I've never had a TT accident and while it's a little slower, it's definitely safe and quicker than going one day at a time and such. It's great for letting your grass grow and flowers spawn as well. But the MAIN REASON I like it is because your animals don't "forget" you, which skips the dialogue and lets them ping~

So you have some options here. Some quicker, some safer, some a little in-between. Choose whichever is better for you and you'll find yourself entering a nice flow, and you'll see the moving process suddenly become a lot more tolerable~

Best of luck Mitzi~

Also if you ever have a moment where you're paranoid or have a bad feeling, simply begin the game with a New Villager and scout the houses. If nobody's in boxes, you're safe to bail out and load your mayor~ This is useful for if you don't feel comfortable after TTing forward 4 days, since a villager can technically move out on the 5th if you got unlucky on the date you TT'd back to. So you can add an optional step to use a "Scout" (New Villager) on the 5th day to ensure nobody's boxed~

Hope it's going well. I'm cycling also and I found its best to let other villagers move out rather than asking them to stay.

Thank you! I've begun letting people out, she is still being stubborn though. Fingers crossed it'll be soon

Thanks sooo much! I appreciate all the advice. I'm taking a little break for dinner, but when my patience is refilled I'm going to try out other methods

Not a problem~ I went through a lot of cycling frustrations when I was trying to get Loki finished, so I totally understand how you're feeling. Good luck!

Welp, I did one last TT before taking a break and she finally asked to move. (and then changed her mind, but I reset and on the second time she kept her decision, sorry Astrid, but you have no choice)

Thank you all for all the help regardless. I have to do some more TT-ing in my other town now to make room for my last dreamie. As well as I plan to start cycling and selling villagers, but it won't be as tedious as I won't need someone specific to move like his time. So the TT-ing never ends :p

They should totally have bikes in the game, it'd be great. Bike shop run by a Dolphin or something. Of course the grass would die even quicker but they could just eliminate that feature to the benefit of us all.
