The villagers will call you a stump maker.
I invited the mayor from my other town in to chop some trees down. No stump maker comments the next day.
In my real towns I chopped as I needed. In my harvest town I cleared the town and than replanted perfect fruit.
If I made another town I would set it for June and chop all the trees. Get the tarantula and than TT to July for the scorpion.
Once I was done I'd start my town as a real one.
